That also means you cannot have an opinion on Hitler because you didn't meet him personally!
That also means you cannot have an opinion on Hitler because you didn't meet him personally!
AND I HAVE NO OPINION ABOUT HIM! MY OPINIONS MEAN NOTHING AS THE COURIER IS THE FICTIONAL CHARACTER THAT MEETS THESE FICTIONAL FACTIONS IN THIS FICTIONAL WORLD!
There's no need to shout, eh?
Look, this is just conversation, and whether or not you have an opinion matters to nobody in the end. However, you are the one who said "MY PERSONAL OPINION IS THAT...(snip)" and that kinda leaves things open, you see. Honestly, I've never met anyone with no opinion at all before. I'd swear my toaster doesn't have an opinion, but it seems to prefer that I eat my toast either burned or untoasted... and my computer has no opinion, other than it seems dedicated to killing off my characters whatever faction I may choose, so I guess it has an opinion that living characters are offensive. That bodes ill since the current prediction is that humanity will not be the dominant life form by 2045, eh? There's almost no doubt that machines will have opinions by then, whether they can know what it is to be human or not.
I do have an opinion. THAT opinion is that the character I make is more important than myself in this world.
You are "right" that the character is "me", but it is a completely separate mindset of mine. the "real me's" opinion is not important, but the me that is in the mindset of the character I am playing, that is far more important. Understand now.
I understand that you have a hard time accepting.
Separate mindsets=separate opinions. When I play fallout new vegas, I play in a different mindset than the real me.
So then, who does the game (and hence the fictional world) exist to please? If you are not important, try pulling the power cable off your computer mid-game and see how far the fictonal world (and your character) gets. If indeed, the game exists for your enjoyment, you must surely notice when things in the game give you pleasure, or fail in providing you with the escapism and entertainment. Remember, reality is just a state of mind.
To the old Romans who watched gladiators for the entertainment value, the arena was an adopted reality which provided entertainment simply because it was safe (as opposed to becoming a gladiator oneself), yet those crowds had opinions about gladiators and combat, which gladiator they supported and which they did not. This is the antecedent for modern video games, although we now enjoy the sports as bloodless recreation. this does not imply that we do not or should not have opinions regarding them.
Again, separate opinion for separate mindsets.
But we haven't even met you, so how can we even respect your opinion?
Have I given you my opinion, or just told you what you refused to listen to?
The question is really simple.. seriously this drake guy gives the exact [censored] answer in every [censored] thread it seems..
What is your favorite faction to play as. That is basicly the question. We don't give a flying [censored] if your not in the game. The question is simple, as YOUR characters, which faction did you enjoy playing most of all. Pick that one, and say that is who you show your allegiance to because that is the faction you enjoyed most and would be with if you were in the game because that is who you enjoyed playing as with your character. Its that simple. Just pick a faction.
Really, this guy is insanely hard to deal with, he always seems to have an excuse as to not answer the question asked. And instead of answering the question, he just posts his excuse as to why he refuses to answer the question.
Seriously, ever since this guy showed up on the fallout forums, he has started arguments on tons of threads and always starts raging in caps.
Some sided with the NCR, other would live with the followers, most just play and get on as many factions' good side as possible. I cannot pick one because I had so many characters that had different reasons for everything.
What? I told you the truth. I play the game as the character. And I had so many characters, I feel the best answer to the question is to state that it depends on my character.
Which character did you enjoy most? Who was he with? Pick them.
None, really. That is the answer I am going with, because I cannot remember any of my characters except the one I am playing, who has not chosen a side, as she has not met them all yet.
My past characters no longer exist, as they have been deleted.
They do not, as I delete them. I cannot choose from a list of deleted characters.
So to answer you properly, my average, ordinary, everyday opinion is that I, as an average, ordinary, everyday person, align with none of the factions listed.
so none of them would please you in real life?
Some would be okay, but I would still not join them or even be near them. The only reason my characters even try to befriend them is because it would fit their RP.
I honestly do not despise any of them, personally, because they are fictional.
