I do understand video games. I am not in the fictional world, so have no opinion on the subject, whereas my characters I make do.
I would probably live in a cave like a recluse, because I do not like people all that much.

I chose the Kings for pretty the much the reasons stated so well by Longknife (btw, kudos, Longknife). The Followers are fine, but they'd never survive on their own without getting bogged down trying to just stay alive.
I'm also fond of the Great Khans. One may look down on them for their drug making activities, but the fact remains that the drugs they produce are functional and often needed, if not absolutely necessary. To blame them for the behavior of the fiends is like blaming the Gun runners for the abuses of guns that occur throughout the game environment. My only problem with the Great Khans is simply that they don't really stand for anything meaningful.
Oh, and about living conditions in the Lucky 38... that place gives me the creeps, and between the feeling of a vanished population along with constantly moaning wind, I think it'd drive one crazy fairly quickly.
well there's the answer. And a rather comical one at that, did not see that coming.
I do not play games to identify myself, but to play a different character that is not me at all. It is the only way to play, so why bother with my own opinions when I get into the mindset of the character I am playing.
It's YOUR only way to play. Not everyone else's. Keep that in mind.
Honestly? That is indeed the only way to play. I can't ever put myself in the game because I would not exist in the Mojave.
Sorry if I seem to be going on about this, I just find it incredible that you play this game, read topics on the forums, and yet have absolutely no personal opinion on any of the factions within it.
I do have my opinions, they just are not relevant to the game as, one more time, I HAVE NEVER MET THEM AS MYSELF!
I honestly do not have a relevant opinion. All because I play as the character I have. Ex-BoS knight/scout, Then that is the mindset I am in.
So lets say mass genocide was committed somewhere in the world with millions dying, you wouldn't have an opinion on it because you didn't experience it? I respect the fact you like to role-play but surely you could stop being so difficult with everyone and just tell us your own opinion that you've gathered through playing the game
You're taking the game way too literally. You're supposed to imagine yourself in the game world and visualize how you would play out each situation that is thrown at you.
That's like saying that you have absolutely no political convictions because you haven't personally met your President.
Y'know, I might have a problem determining whether my characters would prefer chocolate or vanilla ice cream, but I have no difficulty in determining which faction(s) I would prefer to try to live under. I personally have problems getting along with things that tic me off, so without ever setting foot in the gameworld Mojave, I can be certain that I would have to raise a rebellion against the Legion, probably against House, and work at sedition as regards the NCR. My characters may not have that reaction based on role play, but I certainly would.
To tell you the truth, I don't think I could accurately alter my character's behavior and opinions if I had no opinions of my own as a measuring stick to gauge them by. If I don't know my own opinions, how can I establish opinions for a character? There are, for instance, times when I know that to role play my characters I should just take the course of action that is completely contrary to my personal nature.
When I play a game, I have to play as the character, as something other than myself. So that IS my personal opinion.
Read the comment above yours. That will explain this predicament.
I read it. A stand by my opinion that my opinion is based on my character's opinion.
Your character's opinion is derived from yours, on a psychological level whether you like it or not, and whether you do it conscientiously or not. This is a fact.
no it is not. I have no opinion on any of the factions in the Mojave. My characters do.
You do though, whether you like it or not. It's a psychological matter. You're just hiding it within yourself.
Then I must be hiding it real well, because I do not have one.
Tisk tisk. In denial. Yes you are hiding it well.
Odd, no opinion except for what my characters have=having an opinion I do not even know about. Sounds like you are trying to coonvert me to your way of thinking because you do not like my opinion.
I will say one more time: MY OPINION IN THE FACTIONS IS BASED ON THAT OF MY CHARACTERS! I HAVE NO PERSONAL OPINION ON THIS TOPIC!
