Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't PS3 games update automatically via internet if you have a decent internet connection?

If so, the game may have already updated without you realizing. Or perhaps the patch hasn't been released on PS3 yet.

If you don't have a decent enough internet connection to connect your PS3 to, then I'm sorry, but you won't be able to update to the latest patch. :(

Yup. If there's an update for any game, and you're connected to the Internet, it should tell you that there's an update for the game and give you the ability to download and install it right then and there.

Pop in the game and when it fires up it will say an update is required. Do you have your system hooked to the Internet and are you signed into the PSN?

Edit - I believe that's the only way.

You don't need to be signed on. Game updates are looked for even if you are signed off. The only way to disable this feature is to disconnect your PS3 from the internet by taking the cable off it, or by going to your options and disabling the connection. It's easy to do and actually recommended while playing FLNV because it at least appears to reduce some of the lag in game.

Just remember to re-enable it when you want back on the net.

P.S. It says you are required to do it and it kind of looks like when the trophies load up, so you may have it and just zoned by when it came up. You can look with the triangle button and see what version of the game you are using. I am not by the PS3 now and a little foggy on this. I think you can do it from the main game icon, if not go into your save game data folder and look at the FLNV file there. Patched should say 1.01 I think.

If there is an update it will automatically do it when you start up the game (as long as you are connected to the internet). I had an update about a week or two ago and had no problems with my game from it. You probably did do the update but thought it was just loading your trophies but thats just a guess from me. I know thats happened to be before with another game.
