Where to from here

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:34 am

I have finished the main line and the Broken Steel expansion. There is half a dozen of unfinished quests from earlier on that I will not bother with, and last evening decided to go into the Mothership Zeta. I do not know how long that will take to complete. When I finish this, which other expansion is best to do, if any? The choices are The Pitt, Operation Anchorage, Point Lookout.

PS: I have already ordered Borderlands and COD6. They both will be arriving within a few days.

Take a break?

Fallout 3 won't run anywhere, if you're growing tired of it than stop playing for a while. You'll probably go back to playing it eventually.

Out of The choices: The Pitt, Operation Anchorage, Point Lookout.
Go with Point Lookout then the Pitt, If you like first person shooters go with Operation Anchorage. Or you can install all the expansions and start a new character.

I don't see why you wouldn't do everything if you already paid for it all.

Only have limited time (1-2 hours in the evenings) and there are new games arriving any day now.

I will go with Point Lookout as suggested, assuming I manage to finish Mothership Zeta this evening. I started last evening and made it to the cryo-chamber with the Samurai, Cowboy and others. Do not know how far % that is in the game?

Having played quite a bit of Borderlands (beat the game after 36 hours this weekend), I can say you'll probably enjoy it.

:)

My personal take on the games mentioned.

Fallout 3 is like wine. It's a game I tend to savor, take my time with, let it "breathe" and appreciate over the course of it's own history.

where as

Borderlands is like going to that rowdy sports bar and doing shots with the crew and forgetting my own name. :)

both games are fun but in different ways. One takes patience and dicipline, the other takes a designated driver and a good hangover remedy.

Fallout, for me, requires some note taking as to remember where my char left off, so coming back to it from my other "two night kills" becomes alot easier. Very easy to play several games and still play F3 while the other games hit the shelves. I tend to do this with deep games, while also playing the lighter ones at the same time.

If you are bored of Fallout 3, get Dragon Age for the PC. Insta-win.

In MZ aliens die in one shot (rarely in two), they are all the same and I am bored of them and the same corridors. I cannot see it as remotely challenging, or thought provoking or whatever - I am not trying to simplify it, it really is so much the same, like a never ending Metro Station dungeon...

Tonight I will abandon MZ but I do not know how... Go to an earlier saved game is the answer!

COD6 and Borderlands have not arrived yet. But I now notice Sod Meier's Pirates on my desk. Let me see...

I agree MZ was the worst of the DLC. OA was similar but it didn't drag on nearly as long. I wish they would have ended the DLC with a bang not a dud.

I got Dragon Age for the PS3, totally fantastic RPG, gets you MEGA hooked especially after you get more powerful equipment and spells, I have borderlands but havent installed it yet because I have to clear up room on my tiny PS3 40 gig drive or finish other games like FO3 first !

Yeah I was running out of room on my 60GB so I went out and got a 500GB to last me for a long, long time. If you have the money that is what I would recommend doing. Mine was $100 bucks for a 500GB HDD. Also if you have an iPod classic you can use that to back up your old data so you dont lose it.

Will a Apple Itouch work for that? I read you need to use a device that is FAT32 is that true? Is it simple to upgrade and will I lose any game saves or data? Thats the only thing I am worried about, and it needs to be a notebook drive right?

Thanks I really would be able to install all the games I have bought, I have like 3 of them just sitting there waiting for me to finish up other games to clear up room!

I'm heading over to Star Trek Online in a couple days when the headstart gets going. If anyone wants to meet up, drop me a line. I have the same ID on there as on here.
