Don't you get a housecarl though? Aren't they by default act as a steward?

You only get a housecarl if you are thane, you don't need to be thane to buy. The plot of land.

any follower? so i can have j'zargo or cicero be my steward?

what about if im thane in every hold, does that mean my housecarl will automatically be my steward? If so that would svck

Housecarl - If you are thane they will protect you with their Life - Can be Steward

Steward - Advises the Jarl and Protects them with their Life - Can be Almost Every Follower

ha i was going to but my spectral assassin said that sithis wanted him alive so i thought he might be useful later...if not i can always go kill him later

So are their new Housecarls in the regions you can now build houses in if you become Thane also? I had one character be Thane of all the holds, but of course only got Housecarls in the holds with homes.
