I have a rather simple question, where else has the fallout series been?
I was playing Fallout 3 and I was thinking, I would like to see how the other cities turned out. New York, Chicago, LA, Vegas, ect. So my question is this, have the other 2 games been to any of these? Or are all of them centered around DC so far?
FO3 was the first in the series set in DC. However it was also the first in the series to offer any sightseeing (as far as I know of FO1&2 - I don't know about the spin-offs though) So, for example, in FO1 you do visit LA but I doubt if there's any actual resemblance to the real city - I for one (non-American) didn't notice any landmarks.
Fallout 1 had LA. Fallout 2 had San Francisco (and Reno) Fallout: Tactics had Chicago. Fallout 3 was set in DC metro area and one of the DLC, The Pitt, was in Pittsburgh. The upcoming Fallout: New Vegas will feature (you guessed it) Las Vegas.
The first two Fallout games were not specifically located around a single city, the scale was more that of an entire state. Traveling around the area went entirely different. Landmarks and things to recognize a city by are more a thing of Fallout 3 than the others, LA isn't recognizable in Fallout 1, San Francisco isn't really in Fallout 2 and the only thing that reminds us that New Reno in Fallout 2 is built out of the ashes of Reno is because of the "Biggest little city in the world" advertisemant at the entrance to the city and the fact that there are a few casino's still operating there.
