Where in Oblivion did Brelas go?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:54 pm

Missing NPC here, a female Bosmer named http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Brelas

Spoiler
She's from the Diplomatic Immunity quest, the drink girl in the Thalmor Embasy. I felt kinda bad for totally screwing her over and getting her thrown in the torture chamber and thought I'd visit her after the four of us escaped.

She's supposedly located in Windhelm according to both the Elder Scrolls Wiki and the UESP.
One claims she resides in Candlehearth hall and the other states
"If she survived the journey, will disappear to the left of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Candlehearth_Hall. She will spend her time at the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:New_Gnisis_Cornerclub."

I witnessed her vanishing act but she's neither in Candlehearth or the Cornerclub.
When I move to her reference ID I get stuck under the city and she's nowhere to be found.
If I spawn another copy of her, she darts right to the same location and vanishes again.

Anyone know where she heads to or how to bring her back?

prid id_of_Brelas [enter]
moveto player [enter)

Nope, I'm fairly new to console commands. I simply player.moveto or whatever it was to her Ref ID.
I'm assuming that doing so moves her to you?

Thanks, I'll try that out shortly.
I hope it works, she kind of vanishes after she walks next to the Candlehearth hall.
Every time I spawn one, I'm afraid if I do find her she'll just run back there again!.

Do it outside Windhelm then and talk to her before she walks away. :)

Whenever I try to talk to her she would give me a generic "Hmm?" reply then dart off.
I'm hoping to find a way to get her to resume her normal life, without evaporation. lol

Are you even sure she survived the trip from Solitude to Windhelm? From what they say on the UESP wiki, maybe she's meant to disappear, maybe she left Skyrim?

Yeah, I had a similar issue with her. I even followed her all the way from Reeking Cave to WIndhelm, and she just disappears. It seems that, just like Malborn, she is supposed to leave Skyrim altogether. But unlike Malborn, she skips the mini-quest of guaranteeing her survival, and just gets removed from the game. In the end, the only NPC that can escape the Embassy that permanently remains (unless he dies) in the game is that fellow that joins the Thieves Guild.

I watched her vanish the first time, so I know she survived the trip to Windhelm.
IT does say on UESP that she vanishes but then it says she spends her time in the Cornerclub.
If she's gone, how could she spend her time there after disappearing? D:

That very well could be true, I know if you don't involve her in the quest she stays in the embassy.
I transported to her with console after doing the quest and she stays there.

I suppose leaving her there, knowing she's safe is the more sound thing to do for my OCD conscious. >.<

I don't know who wrote this but it's quite unclear. If she disappears, she disappears; she cannot spend her time in the corner club. UESP articles are written by people who do not belong to Bethesda.

Well yeah, I know that but generally things are well enough worded.
This is just confusing, however I can't help but wonder why the console would bring you under Candlehearth if she's truly gone.
Since that's one of the locations she's said to reside, or so says the Elder Scrolls Wiki page.

I've never used her in the game, so I don't know what happens to her. I think she spends her time at the corner club before going to the party. I also think that she disappears because, after what she went through, she just leaves Skyrim. What do you think?

You're probably right, thanks for all the assistance. :3

On an unrelated note, you wouldn't happen to know anything about the Wolf Queen Awakened quest, would you?
I'm level 81 and can't get the quest to start because the courier won't spawn unless you level up...

Can't find a fix online.

I ALSO had the same problem (I guess we must play similar!).

The Courier will ONLY be generated into the game upon leveling up. If you're 81, like I was, you only have 2 options:

1. Wait and pray that a DLC is released that raises the level cap.
2. Start a new game

I went with 2, since I had done everything else in the game.

On a side note, Mjoll the Lioness' fetch quest seems to have similar requirements for starting.

I can't tell you how many times I've restarted this same exact character because of glitches.

I've restarted twice. The first time because I did not like my perk setup. I had explored ~50% of Skyrim on that one. The second time because I powered through EVERYTHING to find every possible glitch or bug that I could, so I could learn to avoid it. I had explored maybe 97% if the entire world on that one.

The first time I was a Breton. The second time, I was an Imperial (A rather rich Imperial, at that). Now I'm playing as a Nord. But I'm waiting before I really start playing to see how the first DLC will be.

I've never had to wait to be level 81 to get that quest. All you have to do is help the stewart of Solitude about a cave full of necromancers near Dragonbridge. Go to Solitude, talk to people until you get a quest that says more or less "go to the court". Once there things should be good. :)

That quest "go to the court" ONLY triggers on leveling up. So by being 81 prior to the previous quest, xcrimsonlegendx and I missed out on the requirement to start the next one.

I was trying to wrap up a character before DLC, so I could go right into it with good gear and lots of hours behind me.

I mean you can't start the quest if you are at 81, if you're at the max level the courier never delivers the message from Falk Firebeard.

Did you try and talk to Falk anyway?

Yes, he doesn't say anything until the courier delivers a message to you after you clear the cave.
Then you're sent to the catacombs to find the wolf queens remains.

Do you have to be a higher level, or just level up? What happens if you roll back your level and stats, then level up again?

EDIT: Answering my own question, it looks like both are required.
