What do you think our guy is doing 3 years later....

I think I'm giving water to poor people.... Then I go to my house in megaton and buy the love shack and get busy :D.

Knowing my current character, he'll definitely want to be with the friends he's known for so long. Probably just living the good life at Tenpenny Tower, but he'd probably get bored of that, too.

Though, in three years, who knows what could happen? There could be another threat that the Lone Wanderer has to rid the world of, as no one else will do it.

Stuck with the hilbillies in Point Lookout as I got detached from my character and abandoned him.

Maybe he is making friends with the trapper?

Since I still don't have the blasted DLC, most of my heroes wind up as irradiated corpses in the Project Purity chamber. It's very poignant.

My guy started off evil and ended up good... kind of  He mostly keeps himself out of trouble and likes to cause large amounts of trouble for anyone that has done the same to him. I envisage him wandering about the wasteland aimlessly, but mostly seeking new situations where previous experiences are irrelevant and there is no obligation to blindly follow any group. So I imagine he has become tired of D.C. and moved on to another city, maybe New York. B)

Following canon, most probably helping BoS clear out the SM remnants, and establish themselves further.

I think it might depend on who your player is.

Energy Weapon Specialist: Joins the Brotherhood as a knight. Kicks major mutie butt.
Neutral Karma, Outcast Friend: Collects technology for the Outcasts
Disarms Megaton Bomb: Takes over as mayor of Megaton with Simms gone.
Science Specialist: Stays at Jefferson Memorial, helps keep Project Purity running.
Good Karma: Continues to hunt raiders for the Regulators.
Medicine Specialist: Becomes the doctor for a settelment that doesn't have one (Arefu, Rep. of Dave)
Cannibal Perk: Moves to Andale and never goes hungry again.
Child at Heart Perk: Moves to Little Lamplight, to satisfy the emerging authorities that there's an advlt present.
Sniper Perk: Joins Reilly's Rangers as their new sniper
Black Widow: Marries Mr. Burke and lives in luxury in Tenpenny Tower (after Tenpenny has an "accident")
Evil Karma: Kills Eulogy Jones and "inherits" leadership of Paradise Falls.

The possibilities are endless...

Mine would be living in Tenpenny Tower since he just wants to live a comfortable Pre-War styled life.

After three years every threatening creature would be dead. Every smart talking smarty pants too. I would be the richest man in the wasteland; hated but respected by most, loved and admired by the rest. Towns I have touched are thriving. Towns I have destroyed have been resettled with qualified former followers in charge.

I often hear Jericho say "How the *&(# did I get put in charge here?" but his hearts in the right place.
Clover insisted on opening a brothel.
Fawkes is inhaling every book at the library.
Sgt RL-3 reprogrammed every robot in the wastes and the resulting army is under my control
Charon and dogmeat are my loyal companions/bodyguards.
Star Palidin's loyalty will always be with the BOS.
Last I heard Butch is in charge of security at the vault 101 daycare center.

With promises of riches and technology beyond my wildest dreams, my character would be lured into some fabled mega-armory, only to be ambushed by the entirety of Talon Company, going down in some sort of blaze of glory, leaving only one merc alive, and himself dead.

Dead.

In my case, doing the same thing I've been doing because I've already done like 6 years in the game.

After he went all sociopathic in The Pitt, he's probably still wandering the wastelands, carring out detective work in his longcoat and hat, delivering justice as he sees it.

Nah, he tried that, but it was too much for him. So they made him the Two-year-old Room's Assistant Teacher instead. When he's not giving haircuts, of course.

Collaring hapless raiders/enclave. Keeping the "mutant" population to a minimum. Supplying Mr. Hoff with chems. Living a peaceful life with his companion. Drugged out of there minds most of the time most likely lol

Probably do odd jobs to keep myself busy whilst living at Tenpenny tower until an unfortunate accident involving Mr. Tenpenny, an elevator, and a feral ghoul made me decide it was time to move on.
I then used my considerable amount of caps to start a caravan with the brotherhood in an attempt to travel to the west coast to try to be re-included in the west coast BoS, but was ambushed somewhere near Utah, I recently made it to Nevada, where poor and desperate, I got a job as a courier to try to save up to travel to California but was shot twice in the back of the head and left in a shallow grave, I have decided to hunt down my attempted assassin and find out why someone tried to kill me and what was so important about that last delivery :flamethrower:

My current character has developed a lot of love for Megaton. The citizens love her (Except for Moriarty, until one thing I mention in a second). And due to helping out Vault 101, making Amata the Overseer, and opening trade between the Vault and Megaton. (Making the whole "I BAN THEE" kind of pointless) This improves Moriarty's mood, since it brings trade. Workers and caps, etc.

So. Three years later, she's probably even EXPANDED Megaton. Probably the areas between 101 and Megaton, mostly Springvale.

Roleplay Alert: My most recent character left Vault 101 in search of his father and found him quickly. However, knowing that he was not much of a repairman, he left the repairs of the Purifier to those more skilled than he, and set about exploring the wastes and exterminating super mutants. For a time, he was joined by his faithful companion Dogmeat, but then the hapless creature perished in battle, leaving our hero to press on alone. His only friends were products of America and China: the Lincoln repeater and the Xuanlong assault rifle, and the surly Outcasts who kept him supplied with ammo for the latter. At one point, he saved a hapless Brotherhood initiate from a mutant-infested building. Because the Brotherhood owed him one, he arranged for them to resume guarding the purifier, so that when the Enclave struck, they were cut down. After safely retrieving the needed GECK, my hero launched a stealth assault on Raven Rock, and while he didn't defeat the Enclave, he messed them up badly enough to foil any ability they might have had to take over the purifier. And so, today, this intrepid youngster has retired to his home Megaton, where he and his father are making a life together in a Wasteland where the waters of life flow freely.

I love a happy ending.

Married Srah Lyons, went back to the megaton house and they lived in wealth, the piles of loot in the house would supply enough money to buy the wasteland. My char went to some vault and found a geck. Then he made a raider activate it, which killed the raider. Then, Megaton and the surrounding area was lush and green with life, and the town was renamed New Springfield. Also, Cromwell died from standing in the radiated water for so long, I mean, that guys legs must be messed up by now, he stands in it day and night, and if I die at 1000 rads, then there's no way he can survive more than that.

My character will be fighting an inner battle, for he is of good karma, but has an unnatural hunger (Cannibalism)
Normal food tastes like he's easting dust, and he has tried to live with the Meresti family, but killed and devoured their corpses in a blind rage. He is currently living in a tent up north, hiding himself from the people he once swore to protect.
