Roleplay Alert: My most recent character left Vault 101 in search of his father and found him quickly. However, knowing that he was not much of a repairman, he left the repairs of the Purifier to those more skilled than he, and set about exploring the wastes and exterminating super mutants. For a time, he was joined by his faithful companion Dogmeat, but then the hapless creature perished in battle, leaving our hero to press on alone. His only friends were products of America and China: the Lincoln repeater and the Xuanlong assault rifle, and the surly Outcasts who kept him supplied with ammo for the latter. At one point, he saved a hapless Brotherhood initiate from a mutant-infested building. Because the Brotherhood owed him one, he arranged for them to resume guarding the purifier, so that when the Enclave struck, they were cut down. After safely retrieving the needed GECK, my hero launched a stealth assault on Raven Rock, and while he didn't defeat the Enclave, he messed them up badly enough to foil any ability they might have had to take over the purifier. And so, today, this intrepid youngster has retired to his home Megaton, where he and his father are making a life together in a Wasteland where the waters of life flow freely.
I love a happy ending.
