Where to start!\?

Post » Wed Mar 17, 2010 8:08 am

I just bought New Vegas off Amazon for thirty dollars. It'll be in my hands on the 26th. Now I'm laying plans for what my character will do. I'm already intending to tag guns, speech and repair, and favor Intelligence and Endurance over the other stats with two points in both, and the last point into Agility. Dunno about perks, but I'll probably start with Black Widow. In tend to play as a generally good with neutral leanings character. "I can be ruthless. I try to be fair" and such.

Now then, I intend to smash Caesar's Legion to the last man and hand all of the Mojave over to the two-headed bear. So, fellow wastelanders, how should I start things out?

Addendum: Oops. Can a mod please fix my title typo?

Go on the tutorial quest with Sunny to earn some more exp then look around Goodsprings for some starting loot and proceed towards NCRCF to help them/kill them and then move along down to Primm.

I'd start with Legion if I were you though.
It seems like it's harder for people to give them a chance if they side with them last.
Best to give them a fair chance and take time to think about what they're doing first and then go for the other factions on the other playthroughs.
And when siding with them don't go all "I'm with Legion, I need to be evulz!", be a good person to people and still join with them.
Be openminded and think about what they're trying to do.

I'd say play it through at least once before you ask for suggestions mate. I think you'd enjoy it more if it is all "new" to you.

Sorry, Gabriel. The legion embraces slavery to the hilt, so they need to die. :gun:

Well, once you do play as a Legion character I hope you think about what their long term plans are and whether or not House or NCR are better off for the majority of the wasteland.

First, download all the patches! Seriously.

Second, just screw around and have fun. Save often -- If you wander into the wrong areas you WILL die.

Third, don't be in a hurry. Explore and loot. Lots to find in the Goodsprings area.

Oh, and enjoy smashing the Legion.

I should not that I have played a bit of NV on the Xbrick. Up to...a bit past Nipton, if I remember correctly. I'm really stoked to finally playing such a great game on a superior platform.

I m sute they are. I didn t see NCR of House slaughter even 1 town. All the women would be better off with NCR or House, since cl will turn them into slaves and pass them around as six toys as well.

Eveny the men would be better off. They will more than likely be forced at some point to run at people with guns lol

So Im pretty certain I d rather be under NCR or House rule. Wife, daughters, mom, sisters all slaves and passed around as six toys. That would be hard to swallow for everyone that was not a total psycho.

Same, I just started to play about two weeks ago and went in blind. The only mistake I made was choosing that fiend of the night perk when I leveled, so I loaded a save from before. When it comes to building your character reading up some about it can be useful, but it's nice to play the game once before knowing anything about it outside the game. I like learning about the world from in the game.

Don't try and kill caesars legion. I did that, and I'm at the part where I have to kill the person who tried to kill me, and I'm vilified, and my attacker is in the heart of caesars fort
