Ok, first off, Hello to all of you. Have recently bought Fallout after getting increasingly bored with COD and racing games, needed something a little different. Been playing it for about 2 weeks now and have to say, it is an epicly large game, and very immersive.

Anyway, to the point. I have lost my faithful companion Dogmeat. We were visiting Moira in Megaton to sell a load of junk i'd been collecting, we left the store and i asked him to go find me a weapon, he never came back!

Is this normal? I have looked all over Megaton for him and he has simply just disappeared! Will he ever come back??? Since he left my character has gone from being neutral karma to very evil and have now got a bounty on my head. he must have kept me on the straight and narrow, now i am the wasteland crimelord! (maybe i shouldnt have slaughtered Grandma Sparkle for a few caps and some mirelurk cakes!

Anyway, is this a known glitch or is there anyway i can find him? Oh, i'm, on the Xbox 360 by the way.

If he hasn't accidently died and he can't find you he will eventually wander off towards Vault 101. He'll wait outside the entrance for you to come pick him up.

Oh OK, i'll have a wander over there tonight and see if i can find my faithful companion. Even though he seems to get me into more trouble than i would like, i kind of like him LOL!

I tried finding him at the entrance to Vault 101 and he isn't there. anyone got any other ideas???

Maybe he ran into Megatons armory and got into an argument with security there?

Well, I never use companions, only thing I know is that if he died a message would have popped up on your screen.

If you fast travel a lot he could be trying to catch up with you, and he could be anywhere in the wasteland. Try waiting a couple of days and see if he shows up?

There are some bugs mentioned in the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Dogmeat_(Fallout_3) that may or may not have lead to the disappearance of your buddy

Go to vault 101 entrance and wait 24-48 hours. either he'll come to you or vault 101.

usually you will find him the first time you met him. i experienced dogmeat was somewhere near the garage wreck where he was fighting the raiders before, again it maybe random, but also check megaton or outside vault 101. if not give it a wait maybe dogmeat might appear.
