Mundus. The Aedra living in Aetherius is wrong in-universe.

The Aedra are the ground you walk on, as well as planets orbiting Mundus.

Not really. You're actually on the intermingled haberdashed/Frankenstein conglomerate of the divines. They don't got no dope ass looking palaces. Since they're dead in a manner of speaking.

Yes, they have on occasion, namely as avatars. We see a few during the course of Morrowind, and a avatar of Akatosh at the end of Oblivion.

The Jury is still out on that one for the time being. Most speculation pointed to him being a Shezzarine, a avatar of Lorkhan/Shor, who some believe may inadvertently become Talos. Its a bit early to call it, for now though.

Pretty much yeah. If you want to know more I'd suggest reading http://imperial-library.info/content/monomyth. It's the best place to start.

They pretty much are the ground, air, water and whatever. When they created the world they gave part of themselves to creation. They became the earthbones what you worship in game is that part of the divines, what you interact with is that part of the divines. You can see their bodies in the night sky however, they are the planets orbiting creation.

They are the world,. The worlds very existence is because of the sacrifice they made in order for it to come into being, a sacrifice which costed dearly.

Well...guess what.

If you want another (Different, since its not quite the same thing) example, if you took to Lorkhan you'd more then likely be worshiping the moons. The moons you see in the night sky are in fact his corpse.

They live in a place where dragons roam free, where prisoners are heroes, where there are more diverse races than you have fingers and toes. where there are great desserts and snow capped mountains and trees as big as cities that can move and think for themselves. where there are scrolls that can impart to you the entire knowlege of the universe and then blind you in a single sitting, where a man can rip you to shreads and then set you on fire just by shouting at you. where there are vampires and were-creatures of all shapes and sizes, and where things magic and mundane clash like molten lava meeting water.
.............Yeah id say its a pretty dope ass looking place.

Also they have a log flume.

As far as I know, they affected everything in Mundus, time exist because of Auri-El/Akatosh, Love because of Mara, so on. The only exception is Talos since he did not sacrifice a part of himself to create Mundus, but he is holding reality together.

Just about every race has a different take on Lorkhan/Shor/Shezzar, and whether or not that his idea was a good or bad thing. Some say Lorkhan tricked the Aedra, while others said he merely convinced, or even inspired them into creation. Ultimately though he was stricken down, and had his heart torn out. However, he is far from dead. His heart is, as it claims is "The heart of the world." still beats on, while his 'ghost' seeks to reunite with it. Lorkhan is really one of the biggest participants in the world.
