Where's the fading out effect?

Post » Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:11 am

I've noticed that the fading out effect that happens when a NPC goes through a door or when a conjured creature disappears is completely absent in my game. I have no idea what mod could be causing this problem.

I'd post a load order too, but right now I'm using my laptop and won't be able to access my desktop for a few hours. I can do it later if it helps, but I thought of asking here first in case other players had experienced the same problem and had found the culprit.

Thanks!

What happens instead? Do they just instantly disappear?

The effect is controlled by a GMST, fActorTeleportFadeSeconds. You can use TES4Edit to see if any of your mods are adjusting this value directly. If it's being done from a script, it might be harder to find. (Phitt's Phighting Phixes edits this based on the DoorFadeTime setting in its .ini file, so if you're using that, check there too.)

Yes! It has to be it. I remember that the fading out effect was working as usual before I installed a new batch of mods, Ashes to Ashes being one of them.

Thanks, Arkngt!

Yup, I had this same issue before. It's Ashes to Ashes.
