i 100% agree with u but i think it will be 2 to 3 months between DLC releases cause that's how they done it in the past plus it was 2 months before dead money came to xbox then 2 more months before it came to ps3 and pc

Hell they could have came out with 2 DLC's by now...

Yep, two mediocre DLC's chalk full of bugs and crappy writing to top it off. They'd satisfy the casual masses no doubt, but everyone else would hate them

Fallout NV wiki has the Honest Hearts release date as April 19th. Not exactly positive where they're getting that info from . . .

:nerd:
they read the forums... i would be really suprised if the next dlc did not adress some of the huge problems the game, like random encounters/events, and just an overall more dynamic environment, cause as it stands now, a lot of people are bored with the game so thats not gonna really help future dlc sales, so just adding a dlc that gives you a few hours of gameplay and nothing else i don't think is gonna work, i won't buy another dlc for this game unless i know they have adressed the base game and its environment.

I know right, I mean what gives with putting Las Vegas in a desert instead of a nice green temperate zone like where it really is...oh, wait-

But Brother Alois, I thought deserts were all just blowing sand  . How come New Vegas isn't like that? :whistling: Ya know, if only there was someone here who knew the area. Knew the geography of a certain area of the US. You know, like near the Rockies. But further west. If only there was someone like that...........

i think they could of kept the integrity of the desert but made it more interesting by adding more interesting terrain feautures, buildings complexes for hiding spots, more places to hide and ambush enemies, but not many enemies ever patrol the map, that action is all in set locations and that never changes, instead of the small groups of powder gangers walking in cirlces at their campgrounds, how about having them patrolling their area, maybe going near black mountain or hidden valley, patrolling along that highway towards primm, you never find the brotherhood of steel more than 50 yards from their bunker either, this could all be fixed with a dlc.

Whether or not it makes a good game aside, I thought they got the environment pretty dead on. I spent quite a bit of time in the mojave, and it looks just like it to me. If anything, it's a little too populated, but that would make the game even less engaging. Vegas is too sparse, the rest of the mojave is too dense.

OT: We'll get the DLC when it gets here. Be glad they're making one and have some patience. You younger folks will someday figure out that the only thing you get to early when you rush through life is the end. Stroll slowly through life and enjoy it folks, for it is fleeting..........

Errh, your math is wrong there... Dead Money was released on the xbox on December 24, Honest Hearts is supposedly going to be released on April 19. By my count, that's four months, not six. For us PC and PS3 players, it would be less than two months.

its not a matter of over or underpopulating the world, its a matter of having randomness to the game and making the game more dynamic and interesting..you might like a static gameworld, but to actually try to make the case that it makes sense to not have randomness to the game is kinda funny, new vegas is like ground hog day, remember that movie, every day bill murray wakes up , the same song playing on the radio, he knew exactly what was gonna happen every day, thats how new vegas is, i play stalker and there's factions patrolling and doing different stuff, and the map isn't packed with ememies any more than new vegas, its just more dynamic, and the npc's aren't walking around in a circle like powder gangers or ceasers legion do in NV. its just bad game design. there's no excuse for it.

Since this is our first conversation, I find it a little odd that you make this statement, seeing as how I have not made any mention of what I feel about the game world or it's design. Are you just generalizing here, or do you actually think, based on nothing at all, that this is how I feel? Just where did this statement come from? And how does it relate to my statement comparing the game world as designed with how it is in the real world? Since my comment was solely based on that (you did notice the caveat at the beginning of the statement, right?) do you have anything germane to say? Have you been there? Vegas? Mojave? Can you comment on what I actually said?

i was more generalizing, i'm use to people defending the static gameworld and making statements like, "there doesn't need to be action every 5 minutes", and thats true, i agree, but my problem with the map isn't how populated it is or isn't, its the static environment, factions and enemies etc, they don't cruise around or patrol hardly at all, there's plenty of factions in the game, they just don't go anywhere. and it hurts replayability a lot. it makes it no fun to replay more than a couple times causxe once you memorize where everything is, thats gonna be how it is every time you play the game, nothing will change. and in my opinion an rpg needs to be somewhat different each playthru at least to some degree.

Put that way, I will agree with you. I have to admit I miss the (not so) random encounters. I also would like to see factions being more dynamic, moving into new areas, reacting to the consequences of your actions. And not only NV gets bad marks on that. Scritping a more dynamic game world has to be a high level design criteria from the start of a game's design, so that all the indiviual programmers and writers include the grand plan properly. There's no way a DLC is gonna be large enough to support more dynamic faction actions, but it would be *possible* for one to add in some random encounters. What's the likelyhood of this? Very, very small. Obsidian has a story based game design philosophy and will focus on adding more story with each DLC. That's where their time management will go. Adding rather large changes to the general wasteland is gonna be a very low priotity. Josh et all probably made the design choices to not have random encounters and to not have a more dynamic world based on the amount of time/resources they had. I'm pretty certain that if they had more design development time on the game we would have seen more of this stuff flushed out the way we might like it.

No, probably not.

If so, I won't complain but it had better be a Legion one.

I think that they really should include new companions.
It would have made sense to be able to bring back The Merge and Dean from Dead Money yet we couldn't.
So I think that each DLC should expand on all areas, new weapons, new armors, new perks, new traits and new companions. (except raised level cap unless it's optional)

A raised level cap would be awesome.

I wish i could have used Dean as a companion outside of the seirria madre.
