Where to watch for first reviews?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 12:53 pm

Just wondering if anyone knows who will likely have the first reviews up? That or who would likely be first to post gameplay?

I'm really hoping this game will have some reviews and critic's gameplay before the release date, so if anyone has suggestions, please drop them in.

If Fallout 4 was a house I'd buy it sight unseen. I don't need a review. 10/10

Right? Totally not going to be downloading and playing as soon as I get out of bed that day.

Well it's great that people seem happy to buy sight unseen; as my own preorder would attest to, I was hoping someone would chime in with, I don't know, places that might have a review. I usually like to watch them or game play in the lead up to a release anyways.

I'm not popular but I'll be streaming it the first time I play on the day of release.

There are usually several large venues given review copies in the weeks leading to release, but I haven't heard anyone advertising that that they'd have a review on release day or earlier. There may be a couple smaller reviewer running youtube channels that'll also have early access to do a review, but again, no one seems to be saying they'll have a review or gameplay to watch early.

Ever since I had my "aliens-colonial-marines" lobotomy, I have a knee jerk reaction to preordering games without having a review that involves a industrial press and my head. Now I'm just waiting for every little blurb hoping I didn't shot myself in foot for preordering again. It's probably a overreaction, but the aliens fiasco really was a teachable moment that I just ignored because it's Fallout 4!

I know for sure that I'm happy with my preorder and have absolutely no doubts about it. But still, I'd also like to see reviews or previews for the game before release. But only because its like a drug to me at this point and i need my fix. I'll try to not look at any previews or reviews, but sometimes the withdrawel is too much for me to take and I have to give in.

People will be posting links to reviews ad that sort of thing once they pop up. There will probably be a thread that compiles all the review links with people complaining why the game got that score and not the one they were expecting.

IGN, Gamespot, ect should them by the morning of release . A big youtuber like Angry Joe might if he got a review copy. Personally I'll be playing for few hours after Ps4 open the app at midnight.

IGN is good if you're avoiding spoilers. Only problem is that they'll say certain bugs and issues should be ignored for excellent game play. It's pretty much the only reason I still watch angyjoe. Even if he loves a game, he'll still point out when something freakin' svcks.

I'm pretty much hoping to find a dozen early reviews to give perspective to opinions and highlight any problem to avoid, since it was only doing this that made me aware of a issue that would sometimes cause my game to crash in F3 and help me avoid it. (Helps to wait 10 seconds after a vats kill before opening pipboy issue)

I'll be too busy making my own reviews on the game while I'm playing it. I'll catch up with what other people thought of Fallout 4 once I've finished playing it.

usually quick, but more or less publisher marionettes, are IGN, Gamespot and to some degree Destructoid. But dont expect anything other than "go buy this game now! better buy it twice in case one breaks!"

the most honest "traditional" reviews can be found on RockPaperShotgun, more specifically in their "wot i think" segments. dont expect that coming out until a few days after release though.

I highly doubt they will release any copies early for reviews this time round.

...or it will be a "painful" review in progress thing, that takes some days to complete. (as with many AAA titles)

So the only relief will be those forums, i guess. lol

I'm sure it will be whoever paid for the privilege.

Angry Joe is fun to watch but his will be one of the last as he does play the games for a while before doing his review, which I do like, but it does tend to make his reviews later than others.

Don't read reviews. Don't care about reviews. The only review that matters is mine.
