The interesting thing about Mehrunes Dagon is the history he has with Alduin



Anytime Alduin will show up to eat the world and start a new age, Mehrunes Dagon and a another man would show up as well...

Merhunes Dagon's plan was to try to cause Alduin to suffer from constipation (or to even bust his gut) by making the world too large for the world eater to finish

Unfortunately Mehrunes was caught...and converted by Alduin into a Daedric Prince of Destruction.

I wonder what role he would play in this cycle. Would he even show up again to try and protect the world?

I don't think anyone can answer that question.

If i have learned anything from the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy (and i dare say i may the only living person), i think that we will be forced to turn to Mehrunes Dagon to help us vanquish Alduin.

Mehrunes Dagon has no way to enter the Mundus. The only way he could help would be through some sort of artifact, probably.

If he does help us, my question would be how? He was banished forever into oblivion, so how is he going to help? I'm thinking a group of powerful mages help summon him from Oblivion; just a possibility though.

I'd say ole Mehrunes Dagon is being pretty pissed about now. Look at this quote from the Seven Fights

Alduin speaking to the then, Leaper demon king, who he transformed into Dagon.
"but you: you I curse right here and right now! I take away your ability to jump and jump and jump and doom you to [the void] where you will not be able to leave except for auspicious days long between one and another and even so only through hard, hard work. And it will be this way, my little corner cutter, until you have destroyed all that in the world which you have stolen from earlier kalpas, which is to say probably never at all!"

Probably never at all? More like 99.9% never going to happen now since Alduin/Akatosh with the help of the champion of Cyrodiil and Martin forever shut the jaws of Oblivion. Meaning a invasion the likes of which Mehrunes Dagon would need could never happen again. The Oblivion Crisis was his one shot and who was it that snatched it out from under him right when he was so close? The very being who cursed him to have to do so in the first place!

I'd say if he plays a role at all he would be on the side of the Dragonborn. I would think he has quite a few bones to pick with Alduin/Akatosh.

Can the Daedic Crescent Blade's effect be reversed to send someone from Oblivion to Tamriel?

Skyrim just made Oblivion's quest line 10x more awesome.

I'm not sure about dagon being involved,but there will definantly more to it than killing alduin/akatosh.
We may see the other dragonborns,or the other aedra get involved in some way,just quessing really.

He'll be there with a gastric lap band.
