Where will you pre-order from?

Post » Mon Sep 13, 2010 5:03 pm

Judging by the ratty clothes and the rusty revolver, I would think so.

http://www.fragworld.org/frag/community-blogs/brink-info-pt-3-weapons-and-customization.html

Resistance and Security can both use the same weapons, but the weapons look and sound different when they are held by the different factions.

"?- Although gameplay-wise, the weapons are identical for each faction, they will look and sound different for each. Security weapons will look and sound pristine and well-maintained, while Resistance weapons will look and sound begged, borrowed and stolen. In addition, there is also separate audio for hip firing and when you are aiming down the sights for weapons, since you are closer/further from the chamber/trigger mechanism." - HORSE

Also, you can see the Ceaser Revolver being used by security in the Choir of Guns Trailer

On average I would say that the Psycho Pack seems to be angled more towards Resistance than Security, simply because clothes seem to be one of the few things that are faction specific, and the Grin mask looks like a Resistance only thing. However, the Revolver and Silencers are both neutral, since they both seem to have appearances for both factions.

That's not the Caesar. It's a revolver, but not the Caesar.

The Caeser Revolver is a top break revolver.

The Normal, Default revolver is a swing out.

Secondly, if you look at that the youtube link I provided, you can clearly see that the swing out revolver is the only revolver shown on screen, implying that the breaktop revolver is not part of the normal list of guns.

There's lots of stats silencers can affect other than silencing the shot

Usually, they do not even silence the gun sound much, but remove the muzzle flash and add a tiny little bit of accuracy due to a longer barrel. In Call of Duty, you can still hear a silenced gun being fired very well, if you're not too far away.

Well, that's Call of Duty. I dunno why you're expecting something to work =/
Also, I meant to comment on the revolver thing last night but I was too tired.

The Cesar Revolver looks like a reskin of the revolver in that video, which makes me think that the Caesar is just an extra skin that is Resistance Only.

this entire page just delayed me from pre ordering lol.can anyone help me decide? spec ops still feels like the right choice because im security but if i can earn it in the game instead of dishing out a few extra bucks for it i rather not pre order, and earning it will give me one more thing to acomplish in brink.

I'm pretty sure when you Pre-order, you're only putting money towards the actual product, not adding more money to the value. For example, if this game is $60 at release and you paid $5 to pre-order, you only need to pay $55 (+tax) at checkout. The pre-order isn't extra money its basically a guarantee that you get the game when it comes out.

Ahhhh I keep going back and forth on which one to get, I like all of them except for the DOOM pack. I would know for sure if I knew which faction I was gonna play the most. Right now I'm leaning towards Fallout though, because then I've got some sweet stuff for each.

Possibly, or they might create other packs. They already have the Tshirt model, they could make SD skins and give them out as rewards or something.

Most times companies will give out free codes a lot (Bungie gives out a hell of a lot on their site for the first few weeks), not to mention there's lots of sites that aren't tied with the game that give codes out.

Maybe ''models'' would be better, I know of the rusty/pristine stuff :P

That snub - and that revolver in the trailer, was kinda focusing on that (same weapon?)

I still doubt that gun featured in the video was the Security version of the Ceaser Revolver, or that it even has one. If there was supposed to be one, why not include it in the pictures like everything else?

The box saying that you can get the psycho pack as a bonus is still there for the Xbox and PS3 versions, and both of them say "when you pre-order for the xbox or PS3"

So apparently amazon doesn't like PC players.

Well this is greatly disappointing, apperantly I cannot pre-order the spec ops pack from walmart in canada only USA, now if i want to pre-order i need to drive all the way to USA, pre-order, drive back to canada, wait for the release day and drive there on time to pick it up then drive back and by the time i get home it would be very, very late. I might not even bother if walmart wont do it in canada.
