Where will you pre-order from?

Post » Mon Sep 13, 2010 7:03 am

So I'm that most of you on the forums will be pre-ordering the game, since you were interested enough to join the forums in the first place. My question to you is which pre-order package do you plan on getting and why? I was leaning toward the DOOM pack because I've always been a DOOM fan, but then I saw that the spec-ops pack comes with an exclusive weapon, instead of just a weapon skin, so now I'm not sure. Do you think that you'll be able to use the Sloani mask for both resistance and security? Because it looks more like something security would wear.

Already got it pre-ordered from Gamestop because I love DOOM, but I slowly worked and convinced my friends to pre-order from other places and give me their packs.
As for the Spec Ops Pack, I think the Spec Ops one is Security stuff (Except the Green Scope obviously has a resistance version) and the Psycho Pack is filled with Resistance things (Again, the silencer has a security version though.)

I really love the Spec-Ops pack but it would be foolish to not go with Gamestop because I get quite a bunch of discounts.

And... they are, it was an official press release. They COULD change it, but it's highly unlikely at this point.

If SD was still unsure about the date, they would have kept it at "Spring"

The fact that they were willing to make such an exact date means that they probably already have the printing and distribution scheduled.

But why? There's no penalty for the date changing. If you're gonna pre-order it, just do it now.

Waiting to see if we get a peak at some gun stats for the Hockler Machine-Gun pistol and the Caesar Revolver first. I really like the Grin mask from the Psycho Pack, but I care much more about practical in-game items more than aesthetics. I'll be deciding where to preorder depending on which gun would seem to fit my style of play more.

This topic has already been discussed at length. But I will repeat myself again. Psycho pack, which is Amazon/Direct2Drive. It comes with an exclusive revolver, and I really like revolvers. However, I am actually preordering on PC, XBox 360, and PS3, so I decided to go with a different provider for each one, giving me three different preorder packs- Spec ops (Steam/PC) Psycho (amazon/Xbox360) and Doom (Gamestop/PS3). I like the idea of being able to run around a level without being stopped by an obstacle 6 inches high so much that I am ordering three diferent copies, so I can play on all 3 systems. I want Slash Damage to do really well financially, because they are doing with Shooters what I think should be done with them.

I was, at first, going to pre-order from steam to get the spec ops gear. But, I decided to get it from Gamestop instead.

If I liked anything in the Psycho pack beside the Caesar revolver, I'd probably go with that one.

Judging by the ratty clothes and the rusty revolver, I would think so.

onky thing i saw that was security in that pack was the ark-tech silencer, resistance gets a soda can silencer which is funny because i would think it would make the gunshots louder then quiet, guess i gotta go with the spec ops one then, but i wanted that revolver D:

Nope, it does work, but only once, unless you modified it for some permanence I guess. You could even hold the mouth of a two-liter over the end of the barrel and fire, and it would be significantly quieter.
