In general the numerical sequence of the vaults starts on the West Coast which suggests somewhere in the middle of the country, but there is a lot of places the vaults in the 30's, 40's, and 50's could be. What are your opinions?

I think the vault sequence stuff has been blown out of the water with more recent games, with 3 (which should be far west) and 34 (which should be 1/3-1/4 of the way east from the coast) within the Vegas area; and 87 and 112 in the DC area.

I think it can still work as a very general guide, but getting any more specific than "somewhere in the middle" I don't think is viable.

That is a good point. Vault 3 being in New Vegas makes me wonder what the numbering sequence was based upon. Perhaps experiment numbers vice location.

I think New Vegas is the game that really "blew it out of the water" But with Vault 50, I feel like it would be in Missouri or Arkansas or Minnesota, those areas.

Interesting choices. I also would be inclined to agree, except I would not leave out the vast territory of Texas, nor would I leave out Louisiana as a possible location.

I think Texas would be 40's maybe pushing 50's. The deep south would be 60's, then 70's and 80's and 90's spread throughout TN, KY, OH, VA, WV, SC, NC, Maryland, PA, IN, IL, DL, and that is about it. 100's would start in Maine and go through Virginia possibly further. There are 122 if I remember correctly.

New Vegas pretty much screwed things up on that point. Still maybe Vault 3 was one of the first Vaults built and the others came later :shrug:

I didn't really think the numbers indicated location necessarily.

It seems to be general location in any case, it would be hard to nail down any specifics. :shrug:

The numbers could be nothing more than the order in which they were built. In which case, they didn't necessarily start building them all in any specific pattern. Then Vault 50 could really be just about anywhere.
