Wolfhorn Ranch is my home base the items don't respawn, easy access, and low load time.

I prefer the NCR Safehouse because it's pretty centrally located. The Novac Motel is a good location with a trader and crafting benches. I try to leave some crafting items at Harper's Shack too because it has the benches and a campfire.

Victor's Shack is a bit cramped, but works. Currently, I'm partial to Novac. It's got tons of storage space, and allow me to organize my stuff. Food in the fridge, clothes in the dresser, large guns/unique weapons in the cabinet, small guns in the footlocker, misc items to save in the desk, stuff I want to sell in the suitcase and unique items I found the safe.

Has anybody tried any of the other shacks on the map? What about Field's Shack, over by Boomer territory?

I did used to call Novac's hotel home but I found out that the place can glitch over time. Hence why I moved to a better location.

Novac because it feels like mine/I earned it, and it has a shop, doctor, and benches all in the area. Never had it glitch on me yet. The Lucky38 is too large and getting to it (gate, door, elevator) is annoying. There are a few shacks I've thought about trying but they're never in a good location for my tastes.

My current character was hanging out at the Legion Safehouse but has moved into Camp McCarran after massacring all the NCR stationed there. It's roomy.

My character atm is living in the presidential suite in the lucky 38. My next character is going to live in a cave somewhere ( probably the prospectors one near primm)

BoS Safehouse Bunker, I store all my weapons I don't use in one locker and the supply of the place is good. It has a Reloading Bench and a Workshop, plus plenty of beds to sleep on, so its the best home to me. The second to best home is Nipton, I have the whole town to myself and I own like 5 or 6 Houses in the town, I own the General Store and I own the Town Hall, I'm the mayor and I own pretty much the whole town, athough those Legion flags up there ruin the tourism and economy in the town.

Lucky 38 because it is the only one I have besides novac, I have a mod that expands it and puts a fast travel spot in front. I can't wait to check out the other ones.

Me too.
I like having everything (except a campfire, which I don't use anyway) right there. I also like the Well Rested effect from sleeping in my "own bed".
I have definitely had it glitch (freeze) on me a few times but I just make a hard save before entering/leaving. A bit of a hassal, sure, but ...

Personally, I try find any place that has a ME Drop Box nearby. Because then I can shuttle stuff back and forth. I mostly use the one in Novac and the one in Goodsprings and the one in Primm, since that's kind of where my current character is at, at the moment. Very convenient, close to traders with lots of caps, so I usually spend most of my time hoarding stuff, then a couple days travelling back and forth selling stuff. Otherwise, everything else is stored on my companions or in Novac.
If you're stingy with caps, you just have to do that unmarked quest about who's killing the Bramin there, and then you'll get the room for free and not have to drop the 100 caps for it.

The hotel room in Novac. After "taking care of" Jeannie May Crawford, I feel like I own the town.

I can't stand the Lucky 38's Presidential Suite. It's too many loading screens just get up to the suite. As a character in the game, I'm also not comfortable being in a windowless hotel floor, robots right below me and outside my door, with only the elevator as the way out.

I like the Fisherman's Shack as well, the lurks are only around at night, but it's more of a safe house than a home. I actually don't have a home, I use my own safe houses for when I'm in the vacinity. Victor's house in Goodsprings, the motel room in Novac and the motel just outside the gate of camp Mcarren.

So do you guys decorate? I get a real kick out of placing items in all my pads to make them look lived in. Lay out some guns and ammo on the shelves along with a couple of weapon repair kits or something. Some food, some chems and some books. Who else does that?

I like using Easy Pete's house (he only goes there to sleep and nothing is marked as owned) or the Novac hotel room. Any of the casino rooms require too many loading screens, well except for Atomic Wrangler if you fast travel to The Strip North Gate but that's a bit of a hike just to avoid a loading screen, whereas the trek from the fast-travel point to the Novac room or Easy Pete's house are a lot shorter. Easy Pete's house is the one due south of the fast travel point, which itself is just south of the saloon in Goodsprings.

Hotel room in Novac for me. Centrally located, felt like home (decorated with some finds) and the doc in town seems to regenerate her inventory regularly for critical items for me like radaway.

If the game's physics weren't so wonky and if there were an easier way to manipulate dropped items then yeah, I would decorate the hell out of my living space. I spent so much time doing this in Oblivion only to have items mysteriously shift around that I now think decorating too great a hassle to deal with.

I'm curious to know if there are mods for the PC version that make it easier to place objects in certain spots. How else are books stacked so neatly in Mr.House's penthouse?!

Jeannie May Crawford's body...

Just break her into pieces and carry them to your most popular towns.

Then take your most wanted Itams into the outside of her body, for use.

Not really.

Would prob work though.
