susurruss - female Argonian sneak archer - the soft sound gentle waves make upon the seashore

Dokken - male Dark Elf shield-bash specialist - flashy '80's metal band (couldn't think of elf names, it was the first thing that came to mind, but it works!)

Zugzug - male Orc 2H thumper - WoW Orc grunt

Nicolas - male Breton Atronach mage - um... rhymed with 'brick'

Orrin. o seemed like a good powerful letter, then i just kind of chose letters that felt right after that.

Thats the name of the king of Surda, in Eragon :)

I tend to use modifications of NPC names from previous games, or just pick something that sounds like it could be a name that whatever race I picked would use.

Telemachus Vantinius is my current character, Telemachus because it's a cool sounding name, and Vantinius is the last name of the Knight of the Imperial Dragon in Morrowind.

Anyway, onto the name: I named my Breton Marcus Aquilas, after the last great Roman emperor (portrayed in Gladiator also) and Aquilas is a constellation that means "Eagle" in Latin. I RP my Breton as a descendant of the earliest Nords (a captain under Ysgrammor) and Mer (a Falmer princess) before the Falmer were goblin-like, but he was raised in Cyrodiil in the Imperial City, fleeing to Skyrim once the Dominion's rule prevented anything more than substandard life.
I don't recall any Roman Emperor named Aquilas..? And the two Emprors in the film Gladiator were Marcus Aurelius and Commodus.

Also, FYI, the basic form for "eagle" is just Aquila. Aquilas is plural accusative.
If you want to use Aquila as a surname Aquilas will do I guess, though it sounds like a honorific (like "Africanus" as in "Scipio Africanus") rather than a surname. For a woman it would be Aquila since female names always end in -a.

Cool names, but i like the girls too   in body & soul... if they have one

Ps What about Kamal? is she possessed by one? A evil (Kamal sorcerer) spirit who didn't give her his real name... controlling her with his ancient power over the mind.

That spirit is me with my controller

Ha ha  Yes it does seem life takes on a magical symbolism which perhaps is the truth speaking to us from the subconcious. That book of right and wrong we all carry within us since birth and beyond.

You might be interested to know that those are actual names of Roman legions. Trajana for the Emperor Trajan, Fulminata means "armed with lightning" or Thunderbolt (good name for a storm mage) and Gemina is "twin," which was used when two legions were amalgamated.

Read the book, you'll be surprised how he wrote it and how he based it around the 32 legions, for it's time i have'nt come across another sci-fi quite like it,it's made every silly sci-fi program or movie look childish in my eyes.

Think Halo and spartan but written(which it was'nt) in 1987,go back further to 2000-ad british comic "Rogue trooper"

My first character was a Khajiit whom I named Feral.
Then a second character, Dark Elf, whom I named Darth Nihilus.
Third one, Legaldir, High Elf.
Fourth and currently playing, an Imperial named Aragorn.

Following the sequence: Feral cat is feral, Knights of the old Republic, Haldir-alike (LotR) of Summerset Isle, too awesome to be described.

I just created a pretty buff Breton by the name of Prix who looks like something out of a Simon Bisley comic book and am also wondering what his story is. Closest i can think of is a battlemage who really knows how to lay down the smack down. At least i know he's a good guy perhaps even paladin material. I just hope this does it for new characters and i start developing these guys and gals.

All of my characters are Bretons, I generally just use French or English names or an amalgamation of the two. None of it is original except L'Drac which is a combination of Le (the) and the Occitan Drac (meaning Dragon) which would in theory mean "the Dragon".

My current characters:
Jack de Sombremont
Lucien L'Drac
Llywelyn Brand

Venin (Venom in French). I think it fits my character well since she is a nord assassin/thief who uses poisons.

Kou'skjit, my kahjits name.

Basically it's a wordplay. It almost sounds the same as kahjiit (spelling?) while being very close to the Swedish word for cow-dropping, ko-skit [ko cheet]

Kratos, as in Kratos from the God of War series. Yeah...I tend to name my characters after characters in videogames I've played (another example being Squall from Final Fantasy VIII).

Alzanth - a universal name that I go by in most/all RPGs now.

It's based off a name from an online name generator. Couldn't get a result that sounded right, so I picked one that wasn't half bad, changed it up a bit and added/dropped letters, put the 'th' on the end, and so it became.

I can never think up a decent name just off the top of my head - it takes a bit of perfecting before I can be happy with it.

My latest character is a female Imperial.

I named her after 2 of my ex-girlfriends:

Fidelma áine

She happens to be a Thief, with a very high Sneak skill.

Wonder where I came up with that?

Haha. Love it. +1 internets to you.

My characters name, Grornok, an "Orc", is also heavily influenced by Tolkien, the Master!
I used a bit of cunning to disguise it though.
Tolkiens later spelling of orc was ork, and the remaining letters N O R G , when put together in a sensible fashion, can actually spell GORN which is an Elvish name that means "revered"!
So I just mixed them up, in the best Terry Brooks tradition.
I actually toyed with adding Ara to his name ala "Ara-gorn", as Ara means horse, and Grornok likes horses, very much!

I usually use Horus Nassil in pretty much every rpg I play. He is my alter ego. Horus is from egyptian mythology and Nassil just came to me. Just started a new character, Hjalmar the Blind. Hjalmar comes from a finnish name Jalmari.
