Maybe it's just been my luck, but my Lydia has died several times (I, too, reload to bring her back to life as she has been my packmule...) and always because of my weapon. I've never seen her die because of an enemy, but she has it in her head to step in front of my axe or arrow and down she goes...
My Lydia = death by fireball spells. She'll get downed just as I cast a fireball spell... *BOOSH* *dies*

I've released her from my service, I'd feel bad if she got killed on one of my adventures.

By my side, she has been my faithful companion. She only died once and in the same battle so did I, so I had to reload anyway! If she ever dies and I survive then I'll leave her and place her sword on the plaque in my house in her honour, and offer her armour to Talos himself! It's what she'd want.

Every once in a while I go back to breezehome and I see her hanging out. I don't get there very often so I think of her more like a mooch then a companion. I'm sure she eats my food and uses all my stuff. It's to bad I can't fire her.

So all of us have had Lydia as our loyal companion, and my question to you is what happened/where is your lydia?

Mine is laying in some dungeon I went into right after I got her =(

In her bedroom where I left her. She's resting up after our last endeavour.

For a pure mage character.....not bringing your companion is like leaving your keys @ home.

My Lydia is in lying on the streets of Whiterun. She got downed by a guard that I had her attack, then I took out my bow and finished her off. (Why does that sentence sound weird?)

Sitting with me in a room at the inn in Ivarstead, waiting for tomorrow's adventure, after nearly getting killed a dozen times over by blundering into every single trap inside Shroud Hearth Barrows. She's a great tank, but a total and complete klutz.

She is still there. Wearing the same Plated Dragon gear as I am. I wish I could buy her a horse. Sometimes I get caught in a fight and wish she'd pop up to taunt some. ;)

I used her as a sacrifice to gain favor with the Daedric queen when she told me to prove myself by gaining someone's trust then bringing them back there and having them touch the stone which would bind them while I killed them. So I had Lydia touch the stone, she was bound, and I slit her throat.

I think this is why she reminds me so much of Veronica.

"Oh, I hear Veronica's just stepped on another landmine."

now seems to have become:

"Oh, I hear Lydia's just stepped on that trap I was trying to manoeuvre her around."

Lydia and me where clearing out the falmers for the companion quest, and both fighting the same chaurus, she from the front and i from the back. The chaurus was almost dead, and i want to kill it, but right before she did, and i stabbed her in the neck with one of those finishing moves... nearly cried,,,

Is she that one from the main quest?
Probably still in the jarl's place in Whiterun then, or whatever city.
