whered all the good random encuters go

Post » Tue Jun 01, 2010 11:04 pm

I seriously miis them. I always got a chuckle whenever some poor wastelander would run up to me for help cause he was strapped with explosives. Or coming over a hill and seeing people fighting over a random fridge filled with water.I even kinda miss the regulators and talon comp. I've yet to see these hit squads in new vegas... and I really deserve them.

Have you gotten vilified by the NCR or the Legion? (Spoiler)If you are they both sent a hit Squad against you. But I agree, more random encounters.

If you kill Caesar the assassin squads seem to stop.

Yeah I miss the hit squads, all there seems to be is the Rangers giving you the 3 day warning and the Legion Assassins that come after you if you kill Vulpes Inculta (or maybe that's just one of the triggers). I'd hoped it would be a constant danger I'd have to be on the look out for, but whatever.... I'm really running out of things to shoot....

Pick Wild Wasteland as a trait.

Adding 5 or 6 not random encounters is really not considered random encounters.

I'm glad they're gone. Having to briefly stop so I can one-shot a [censored] raider or feral ghoul didn't really add to the game experience in FO3.

There are some nice spawn glitches that are random.
Other than that it's a very very predictable and static gameworld.
Great for realism, but tiresome when exploring since you know what's around the corner.

I randomly encountered a hostile brahmin the other day. Where is your god now?

Yes I miss those encounters even if they were set randomly to fixed locations.

I miss them a lot. Wild Wasteland doesn't come close.

The one at the New Vegas clinic? Not random. Respawns for me, and kills all the molerats.

I think I must be unlucky, fourth play thru and have yet to see hit squad or shishkebab. Closest I came was a ranger coming up and telling me I was lucky I changed my ways.

I killed all legion on vegas side of river and never saw a hit squad. I have never seen a hit squad since I started playing and I have been vilified to both sides.

and the wild wasteland perk aint so wild
so overall its the same dull boring wasteland over and over again

Actually he was most likely talking about a mad brahmin that randomly spawns and attacks players. Its most likely a glitch but a mad brahmin was going on a rampage on the strip...it didn't last long but still the mad brahmin randomly attacks sometimes.

Maybe more random encounters can be added in the NV DLC that take place in the entire world, not just DLC.

Here are some of the one's from F3. If they added as many to NV, the world would be less bland. I'd feel like exploring again.

there really r not many chances to get into epic combat in nv. All the random encounters r sadly not it this game. You ll have to go back to fo3 if you re looking for combat while spending 100s of hours exploring the wastes.

The dlcs hold promise Dead Money was really good.

As for the main game only good combat is on black mountain or the end of the game. Maybe if you go with cl and fight ncr. They r all over and they even have guns. You might get good combat out of them.

IDEA FOR RANDOM ENCOUNTER
you are trying to find a gap in the silly invisable walls to get over a small mountain when suddenly....
you are attacked by a gang of cliffracers! :P

 Wow, had no idea there were that many. I think I've only ever gotten half of those within a +200 hour playtime.

Vegas still has some random encounters like the hitsquads for pissing of either the Legion or the NCR or the random freeside thug attacks. Other then that though I don't think there are that much more.

The hitsquads only appear once when you piss off the legion or ncr, hopefully they"ll fix that on the upcoming patch, other than that there are zero random encounters in Fallout New Vegas which was made by boring old Obsidian
