Whic ending do you want to be canon

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 2:35 am

So i know that bethesda will probably do something where whichever side you chose is irrelevant, but i was just curious to see how many people would like to see each ending become canon.

Both factions can go die in a fire as far as I'm concerned, but if I had to choose one I would have to go with the Emire. There is just something about Ulfric Stormcloak himself that I just viscerally hate.

Stormcloaks. Stormcloak supporting aside, having Skyrim become independent would open so many more possibilities and thus make for many more interesting stories than "OMG EMPIRE WINZ EVEWYTHING BETTER PEACE 4EVER LOLZ!11"

Not really a spoiler. But if you feel that it is you can use the handy dandy report button and ask for it to be moved.

Neither will be canon. We'll never hear who won this war in future TES games. The Thalmor would have invaded and crushed whatever fledgling peace springs forth in short order. To avoid another Warp in the West, Beth has to make it so the world won't know or care who won this war 200 years from now.

My guess has always been that whichever side wins the Civil war eventually takes the fight to the Thalmor (most likely in a future expansion), and wins. However, no matter what happens, as a result of prolonged war and what has been a very long decline since the end of the Septim Dynasty, the Empire buckles.

In the resulting chaos, whoever won the civil war in Skyrim becomes lost to the sands of time.

empire. i feel that the thalmor will profit from the empires defeat in skyrim and dispatch the nordic population easily without the empires protection. basically. i want the empire to kick the thalmors aldmeri a$$es back to the summerset isle. ALL HAIL TALOS.

This.

Good riddance, a split Tamriel is far more interesting.

only spoilers go in the spoiler section, this is FAR from a spoiler (litterally everyone knows about the war even if you have only played the opening sequence)

and the stormcloaks should win, the empire is long over-due for a good thrashing i say

Anyway, the poll will favor the Empire hands down, people have too much racial prejudices, IMHO.

People are so... sanitized. They can't stand a little Nord-centrism on the side that they support.

It doesn't matter to me which one is canon because both groups will still beat the Aldmeri Dominion if they unite the other provinces.

Hopefully they evolve the game like ME2.. so depending on what YOU decide will be canon... cheating yes but whatever.

i say stormcloaks though but i'm with matoya, mI hate ulfric with a passion. Once I platinum the game he is dead, or maybe tonight we'll see

I would love an expansion/DLC that lets me defeat the Thalmor once and for all as I hate them as much as I hate Stormcloak himself. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who got the impression that Skyrim is doomed either way, just as Vvardenfell before it was. Whoever ends up wining the civil war there is no happy ending here.

I suspect the Empire will survive regardless of Skyrim's fate. TES games wouldn't be the same not set against the backdrop of the Empire.

I don't necessarily think that Skyrim is doomed. I certainly think it'll get worse before it gets better, but it's in a bad spot right now after the Great War.

I do, however, think that the Empire is doomed. Whether you think it's because they made a final sacrifice to prevent Elven domination or because they bent down and kissed the Aldmeri Dominion's proverbial backside is just a matter of perspective.

Eh...if the whole Dominion conflict is resolved within a 25-hour DLC, I'm going to be sorely disappointed. That conflict deserves its own game.

I think a stormcloack ending is more interesting, with more story possibilities, from the end of the empire to the rebuilding, making of a new one etc.

Kill all the humans! Enslave everyone else! The Dominion forever!

[All roleplaying/joking aside, I really haven't managed to make myself care what happens to Skyrim politically. This may or may not be related to the fact that the only other TES I played was Morrowind, and I can't help identifying with Elves in general, and from the viewpoint of Elven interests in Tamriel, neither side has anything going that makes them better or worse than the other. So really I mean "Fence-sitting forever!"]

If the Empire falls, Skyrim definitely will. This is fairly clear-cut. The Thalmor want Ulfric to defeat the Empire solely because he'll be easier pickings afterwards.
