11,11,11...which 11,11 ,11 are we talking about.

Because Australia hates video games.

Remember remember the fifth of November.
At least they aren't as bad as Brazil.

And I sure as hell hope Skyrim doesn't require Steam. I don't mind if they distribute it through Steam, but I hope I can get a license for the game that doesn't require me to download and install malware to run. Yes, Steam can be classified as Malware. I know if they make a malware-free version, the game won't be pirated as badly.

Does the OP have any clue what they are talking about? How does using GMT time mean Americans get it in October?

Yes. He's Australian. The Australian convention for abbreviating dates is DD/MM/YY, as opposed to the US convention MM/DD/YY.

(In fact, I think the US may be the only country which uses MM/DD/YY. I think pretty much everywhere else uses DD/MM/YY).

This makes no sense.
Everyone gets it on on their 11.11.11
Just because the internet makes the world smaller, doesn't mean I have to wait until 8 p.m. to get my game.
You sleep and wake up and get to play the game, where I have to go all day?

Honestly, get over it.

...I didn't get it.

White people problems is what happens when somebody's life (And generally that's white people, thus the name) is so amazing, they have make stuff up to be upset about. Like getting a game half a day later. Or facebook going down. That's awful and unbearable. That's like six kinds of unfair right here!

World Wide release on 11/Nov/2011 GMT. heres a list of times at which the game would be able to buy/install: New Zealand would get the game at 12noon 11/NOV/2011. East Coast Australia 10am 11/11/11. East Cost USA (new york) would get the game at 8pm 10/11/2011. West Cost USA ( LA) would get it at 5pm on the 10/11/2011.

Why would us Americans get the game a whole month earlier?

Which part's crazy? The allegation of less piracy, or that Steam is malware?

My experience with Steam is bad enough (Denial of access to my software licenses, bandwidth consumption, CPU and Memory problems, etc.) that I consider it Malware. Sure, every other form of DRM is malwar as well (And generally worse than Steam), but I don't use those either. The industry is making pirating worse the more it fights. It's stuck in a Catch-22.

Fortunately, I do not see a Steam logo on the bottom of these forums.

Im still trying to figure out why they are complaining about getting things late and then trying to get it released in America in October... This is really "wut?"

Thought Morrowinds Publisher was Ubisoft and Oblivion had been published by Take2? :o

Take2 was brought on as a distributor for Oblivion but Bethesda Softworks was still in charge of the marketing, PR, and stuff like that. I suppose Bethesda Softworks and Take2 were co-publishers.

As others have already pointed out Ubisoft was a regional publisher for Morrowind but Bethesda was the North American publisher.

Yep, especially in light of the fact that I explained it all before they made those posts.

Let me try again: when the OP said "10/11/11" he is not referring to the 11th of October. He is referring to the 10th of November. In the US, the dating convention is that XX/YY/ZZ = Month XX, Day YY, Year ZZ. But in pretty much every other country on Earth the dating convention is such XX/YY/ZZ = Day XX, Month YY, Year ZZ. Including Australia. Which is where the OP is from, if you'd bothered to read the thread.

hmmmmm . . . That seems kind of weird to me. I prefer America's way of doing things. Sorry for my confusion.

Steam likes to be sneaky though hiding as small print on the back of the box.

I have no issue with steam as an option but please don't have it be the only one for PC

...I didn't get it.

It's an expression rooted in the hardships of minorities here in the US. An example of a "white people problem" would be having to decide which college to go to or enduring the price hike on your favorite double espresso mocha latte. I'm a white person but i'm also a blue collar man(roofer) so I find these kinds of trivial problems amusing too.

It's a throw back to Old English in which one would say "the 3rd of March" as opposed to "March 3rd". America invented New English so of course our convention for dating is going to fall in line with how we speak.

Oh and one more thing. TO Zenimax media: STOP PRICE GOUGING AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMERS JUST BECAUSE THE AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR IS JUST A TAD ABOVE PARITY TO THE US DOLLAR.

The extortionist prices of games in AUS are because of the Australian government and related taxes, not Zenimax Media.

Of course you do - you're used to it :D

Well, perhaps that's right. And I'm certainly not saying that there are reasons for favouring one convention over another. Indeed, that was my point. What I was complaining about was the fact that so many people misinterpreted the OP because they didn't realise that there are different dating conventions. And even if you weren't aware of those different dating conventions, isn't the more charitable interpretation that the OP was talking about the day before Skyrim's release - that is, the 10th of November? The least bit of reflection would have revealed that the OP didn't mean the 11th of October.
