Which Army do you choose?

I choose the Stormcloaks.

Reasons are Spoilers, so won't mention.
Which do you fight for?

Imperial. Really wish there was more to do after completing the civil-war quests though for your faction.

I know right?
Spoiler
I loved killing the Imperials, hence I was with the Stormcloaks, now, there are no more Civil War quests.
Maybe more in DLC?

If you're evil, then you should be repressing the rebellion for the glory of the Thalmoor.

I began the game fully intending to free Skyrim from Imperial control, but an open-mind has led me to supporting the Empire.

Unsurprisingly, the only people who have anything good to say about the empire are the Imperials themselves, and those who have something to gain through Imperial rule
Spoiler
(The Jarl of Whiterun, for example).

Beyond that, for all their talk of wanting a unified empire to fight the Aldmeri Dominion, they do nothing but make concessions to the Thalmoor and act as their enforcers.

I am seriously thinking of joining the rebels. Just seems like it would be more fun.

Imperials because Storm Cloaks are jerks, and I'm playing Altmer so it seems appropriate. I mean have you seen those Thalmor robes? Religious oppression has never looked so good. I have a new love, and respect for the Altmer.

Actually, if you really went around and explored the...
Spoiler
Thalmor embassy during Delphine's quest you'd find the dossier that shows Ulfric is a thalmor agent, has been since he gave them intelligence during the great war. They want him to succeed to weaken the empire, but can't support him openly due to the threat of reopening hostilities with the empire.

I didn't take a side, my quest as Dragonborn did not involve interest in other affairs! Even the brutality of the Thalmor would be preferable to the rule of Dragons.

I was going with the Stormcloaks 100% until a certain main quest to go to a certain party at a certain embassy and found a certain document which may have given my pause.

But for my current Nord Warrior playthrough I will still stick with them.

I don't really like either of them. But since the game is about doing quests, and I want to do quests, I joined the stormcloaks. Joining the imperials who are just lackies for the elves at the moment seems silly to me, especially if you are playing a nord, and in skyrim. How can any watch imperials and elves parading around with nord prisoners and want the join the imperials?

To me it seems similar to the scots and english, or the Romans and so many other cultures they tried to dominate. No one wants to be told what to do by some far away court with no say so in their own future.

Exactly! Those of you choosing the imperials seemingly forget the d*uche bag of an imperial captain, that so eagerly wanted to put you to execution even though you weren't on the "list."

Imperial dogs.

I think you should read that document carefully. When I first read it I also misunderstood it. Then I came to realize that he was not by any means in collusion.

My inclination is to go with the Stormcloaks as I'm playing a Nord character and the events of the opening scenes leave a bad impression of the Imperials for me. My reluctance is that I have joined the companions and thus far they seem determined in their neutrality.

None. I can find things sympathetic with both sides, but in the end, it's a bunch of probably decent guys waging a war because the people on top are tools.
