Which is cannon?

Exactly. The refugees have to be coming from somewhere and SD has released limited information on the condition of the world and all we know is that the founders are the ones who created the Ark.
Their intentions may not be what they have stated and since people have been at the Ark for years have they been kept up to date on humanity outside of the Ark?

I think there's more to the Ark then it simply being a bastion for humanity. Video games have a habit of making "a safe place to life in harmony" a cover for something nefarious much like the Vaults in the Fallout series.

They've implied the refugees are all already there, nobody's been showing up since the boats stopped. The current point in the story isn't happening because the refugees have all just turned up, it's happening because the slow build-up of tension between the refugees and Security has finally hit breaking point - and that's the birth of the Resistance.

I have to admit, this discussion has really perked up my interest in the story of Brink. I really want to know what is really going on. Since it's a video game there has to be something sinister going on.

I'll have to go ahead and just set the record straight...

It was the Daleks. They have come to the Ark to EXTERMINATE!

I'd say Security, which is very hypocritical of me but, I think that because alot of people see the Security as better equipped and better handled than a rag tag bunch of civilians. I love the Resistance, they're the first ones I'm playing the campaign through and decking out with awesome features but, lets be honest, at the end of the day the ones with better equipment will always win.

Well i'm just throwing something out here BUT the endings may well be exactly the same story but from each side point of view.

The achievements do not say that they will be different in any way.

Security campaign: Save the ark.
Resistance campaign: Escape the ark.

The resistance want to change/leave the ark so when they win their campaign they leave and it shows them leaving from their point of view. They see victory in that they leave the ark and they got what they want, The security have lost and no longer have power over them.

The security however, want to save the ark and they may well see the resistance leaving the ark as a victory for themselves and a loss for the resistance. They want them gone so they "kicked" them out.

Both endings are the same but still fit with the grey areas of the games ambiguous morality.

Also, at the end everything is the same, however during the campaign things are different. Like somebody said earlier in the resistance they blow up a tower but in the security they save the tower - this act is negligible in which ending is correct as in the end the same thing happens regardless!

BAM TIME-SPACE MIND[censored].

"If you play the Security storyline, we've got credible intel that there is a bio-weapon lab. So you go, 'That's what that map is about,'" Stern said. "You play that [same map] from the Resistance side and they say, 'They're stealing our vaccine.'" Once you realize that vaccines are made from viruses, which could be used as bio-weapons, a simple mission suddenly has a lot of grey area morality that will hopefully engage players."- interview with Edward Stern

Why does the bio-weapon/vaccine have to glow green!

It could be anything else. :D

Yes, I know what both sides think it is, but what I want to know is what it is.

Could be vaccines or a bio-weapon. Either way, I don't think it would glow green like that, or cause that kind of reaction from the three Security dudes. They seemed genuinely shocked at what they had found, which leads me to believe that it is either neither of those things or a HUGE amount of one of them.

I voted "Both" because it's not so much either side that makes the Brink story special, but rather the conflict that is sparked between them.
