Which class fits for a Vampire?

^Title

Mage? Theif? Heavy armor Warrior?

And another question: Is Dawnguard and Volakhir clan counted as actual guilds? I heard you can be leader of the volakhir, so that should make it a guild i guess.. But what about Dawnguard? :)

You cannot become leader of the Dawnguard.

The vampire is more of a spell-caster than melee fighter. Melee prowess belongs to the werewolf.

The Vampire Lord form itself is more of a Mage. The more Magicka you have, the better.
The normal Vampire bonuses, are perfect for a Nightblade.

Either a sneak character, thief or a Mage would suit a vampire. Warriors can be vampires, but they are not suited to it as well as others.

Any class that uses magika is mainly for vampire lords.. I tried being a Vampire lord on my main character who's a warrior it didn't go so well because he had low magika and high stamina.

There is actually a 'Vampire' NPC class in the game that all randomly generated vampire enemies fall under, and most of the vampires in Volkihar Keep. Theyre skilled in Sneak, Light Armor, One Handed, Conjuration, Destruction and Alteration. I played as something similar, but i also leveled restoration for the necromage perk

The majority of skyrims vampires use melee as well as spells. Oblivion's vampire bonuses involved melee. This is incorrect.

I'd say the staple is conjuration, raising undead, but that's just my image of vampires. I'd also throw in destruction and one handed.

Illusion I don't really see fitting, but the game suggests the opposite.

Vampires in Dawnguard get a 25% bonus to sneak and illusion magic. Which as I am playing a sneaky thief that uses illusions works very well. If your a warrior type why not press ctrl and land on the ground and fight with claws and teeth when in vampire lord form if your magicka is low. Your health and stamina should see you through the fights and if you have poison claws and bite you should be fine.

sneak-mage, then use vamp-lord form for when you don't feel like sneaking.
