Which Daedric Prince Would You Worship?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2009 12:11 am

Eh, I mean no disrespect, but I think it's safe to say that NONE of us here would really and truly worship a Daedra, so I feel the "I wouldn't worship any" is pretty useless when the OP itself says "if you lived in Tamriel and worshipped a Daedra," not necessary "WOULD you worship a Daedra." Anyone with basic lore knowledge and has played a TES game to the end would know better than to worship a Daedra.

I know damn well I wouldn't worship one, but if the proverbial gun was put to my head (which would more than likely be the case; see 16 Accords of Madness and basically anything the Daedra Lords do) it would still probably be SHEOG.

I agree, but the question was meant as a hypothetical.

Let's be honest here: the majority of us would end up worshipping whichever one our parents worshipped.

But given the choice, I would pick Azura. She seems the least likely to drive me insane, enter me into a hopeless deathmatch with a stranger, [censored] me, embarrass me in front of noblefolk, use me as target practice for monsters in Camoran's paradise, destroy my planet, drug me, or accept me as a human sacrifice. Meridia might also do, but I don't know much about her.

I would have to say our good old friend Sheogorath. All the other Daedric princes realms just seem so depressing to me, and Jygalagg reminds me of the Borg for some reason. And I'm an optimist with a love of comedy and individualism, and to me Sheogorath best represents that. Plus, isn't he like the patron of the arts or something? If so, bonus points. I love me some culture. :liplick:

Besides, I'm obsessed with Monty Python. I'm already almost completely mad, so I might as well go all the way. *shivers at the thought of Sheogorath getting his hands on Monty Python*...great, now I got Sheogorath doing the Lumberjack Song stuck in my head. Not bad actually :D

Worship none, acknowledge and respect all.

If I had to choose though, it's a toss up among Azura, Nocturnal, and Meridia.

I wouldn't worship one in perticular, just do quests for any I come across to collect some valuable artifacts.

After much consideration, I would most likely worship Namira, Vaermina, and Nocturnal, all to a certain extent of acknowledgment and respect. And no, I did not choose these three because no one else seems to have mentioned them... (save for one other person I believe.)

It was rather a toss up...and I honestly can't decide who I seem to like more...

Facing one's personal fears and anxieties, triumphing over your own demons, greeting the darkness of your own soul and become stronger for it, that sort of philosophy I agree with completely, and that is why I would worship Vaermina.

Nocturnal and Namira hold a certain appeal however, for living in shadow and darkness, skirting the bounds of society and the like is...interesting. I would definitely not like to live in literal darkness, but I would enjoy being the ambiguous, shadowy type.

I dunno--- I would derive GREAT pleasure in watching fools go to The Master's library, rush over to the card catalog, and find a whole wall of drawers of empty cards.

"Look for a particular book? I suggest starting in the back left corner, about 12 miles that way, and 6 miles down. Just keep reading until you find the one you want. Do watch out for the library ghosts though. Seems some of your predecessors couldnt handle the Master's system, and now spend eternity moving books around. Dont worry, the area I pointed you toward is less infested with them, because most of you guys make it past there before you expire from starvation and thirst. They tend to habitate in the middle portions of the library. Who knows? you might get lucky and find what you are looking for right away. Have fun now!"

I suppose I should mention Vaernima, as well. I'm not so sure I would worship her, so much as desperately try to appease her so she won't take me up on my continual subconscious offer of a challenge.

Wasn't Hermaeus Mora's library a kindergarten's nursery compared to Jyggalag's?

Jyggalags had everything:

"The great library was the height of logic and deduction. Contained within its walls were the logical prediction of every action ever taken by any creature, mortal or Daedric. Every birth. Every death. The rise of Tiber Septim. The Numidium. Everything."

Acknowledge them all and help use them for my own reasons.

Spoiler
If I'm forced to pick ONE though, it'd likely be Meridia or Sheogorath...

If that's true, then that makes me think that he was, or at least could be, the strongest "Daedra" because he's Anuic, but did not, and COULD not, lend his power to the Mundus.

Sheogorath because he talks like a scott, threatens to pluck peoples eyes out, and I couldn't seem to understand a word he said.

Sometimes life feels like it swallows you whole and craps you out. Sometimes I feel like an outcast. I'd probably worship Malacath.

As much as I hate to join the "Sheogorath cuz he iz teh lolfountain" train, I think I'd prefer him over most of the others. But I'm not 100% on that.

Hermaeus Mora...I thought about him, but I don't know if infinite knowledge is worth the whole "dead to everything else" aspect of it.

I could stand Peryite. I don't know whether his sphere is pestilence or the balance of nature anymore, but he seems like a decent divine entity.

Clavicus Vile would be an interesting deity to worship. But not necessarily beneficial, or safe. Just interesting.

To make things even more confusing, he is considered a bad daedra to everyone, or at least very destructive :banghead: . Curse his constant neglect!

You might be thinking about the Morag Tong; no one TRULY knows who the Night Mother is. And if they do, they need to tell me.
