With my current character, I play on very hard. The increased legendary encounters are almost completely pointless. It seems like a good 90% of the time I receive a low tier piece of armor with a mostly worthless effect attached. Legendary weapon drops seem to be more rare.

As for the second part of you're question, I'm assuming you're asking about the differences in difficulty levels. For the most part all it effects are enemies' health (larger pool) and damage they deal. Currently, Survival makes your health and radiation heal much more slowly. That should be changing soon.

In Fallout games? The highest one, as always.

But in Fallout 4 the highest difficulty level is more annoying than satysfying in my opinion.

Survival, which actually surprised me.

I play almost all other games on Normal, because I don't really care about challenging gameplay.

But F4 seems to be fine on Survival... it makes you sneak a bit more and be a bit more careful, but that's about it.

I meant:

in Normal, when a frag grenade is right under my legs, I die with my non-power armored char. I have never been hit from head by the ai. Preston % 90 ly cannot kill any crit he attacks. I do get very decent ammo but low caps from crates. I rarely see "Deadly" signed monster and near rare I see legendary enemies. etc.....

I still don't run into "deadly" enemies all that much. I've also been one hit killed by explosives (more times than not it's a mine I've set and I get too close when an enemy steps on it). Legendary enemies do pop up a lot more often. But, as I said, the unique drop is almost always worthless.

Very hard. Like demon said, I get a lot of legendaries, but their mostly useless armor pieces.

My first play through is on normal, which I usually do for most games, just to get a feel of the games balance. The exception to that was FNOV, which I played on survival level because of the additional food/water/sleep requirement. My second playthrough on F04 will also be survival level, as the tweaks Bethesda is making to it will greatly improve it (I hope).

I usually play Bethesda's game at normal difficulty. I do change them to other settings depending on the character and what mood I am in or what state my Arthritis is.

The Bethesda's games are more balanced around Normal.

The first playthrough is usually on normal difficulty. I enjoy exploring the world and do not want to worry about fighting, ammo, and other things too much. When I get tired of exploration and other things (like settlements) I can switch to survival.

But sometimes I prefer just to start a new character, the game feels as truly survival only on lower levels, when you can die from one hit and each stimpack is very valuable.

I'm playing on Survival, and have been for a while. It's the only way of making the game challenging, and even on Survival it's not really that hard. Difficulty is really only scaled by bullet sponging everything.

Survival, once you get the right weapons, everything else would just be too easy.

It's fun. A bit easy and there are power/damage problems.
