Which elder scroll needs an expansion?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:06 am

I am a guy who likes a challenge so whichever game gets the most votes in a given time period I will make a mod of expansionlike quality for and release it to all users here. So go vote. And if you'd like to give suggestions maybe I will include them.

The time limit for votes ends December 31st of this year.

Sorry poll messed up through editing so 2 points need to be added to skyrim.

Yes but perhaps I was unclear it is a mod made by me. Not Bethesda.

Also if skyrim is chosen I will gladly do it but it won't likely be started until the creation kit comes out while the others if they win will be started January 1st.

Should edit title to say mod instead of expansion.
expansion and dlcs- refer to the Developer making it around here.

If I were you I'd go for Skyrim. Modding-wise, Skyrim is virgin territory. A large mod for Morrowind or Oblivion would be "competing" (for lack of a better word) with many highly-regarded large mods that have been made over the years for those games.

my advice you would be better off with morrowind or oblivion, the skyrims nif file form is as of this moment incompatible with nifskope, there is no plugin that recognizes skyrims nif version, and above all the creator kit is not out yet.

even then it will be awhile before custom models for skyrim are made, simply because of the nifskope needs to be updated to recognize skyrim and and the nif import exporter needs to be updated for it as well.

plus we do not know how creatures are set up, we don't know how many animations the creatures have, heck we don't even know how the collision is set up as (yes it is havok but it still every version is different)

sooo my advice go with a game that we do know and that you can get support with.

Thanks. I think I'm going to mod either skyrim or make oblivion more desired than skyrim or morrowind.

I voted for Morrowind, the way you came in made me really want to see what you'd have to offer.

Thanks apparently others think so as well. Morrowind votes skyrocketed today. They had 0 yesterday.

Even though more people want skyrim I will probably created a morrowind expansion first. Then a skyrim equivalent unless creation kit is available and or more people want a skyrim expansion.

Couple questions...

1. Do you have anything in mind location, story, content wise? Or do you want us to suggest ideas?

2. Are you the only one working on this? If so, wouldn't it be insanely hard to make, and wouldn't it also take years to complete?

3. Would you be accepting help from voice actors or writers to collaborate? If so, I'd love to do some writing :)

Anyhow, this is an awesome idea and I hope you go through with it.

Yes content and some story. No locations yet. Depends which place. You can if you would like.

2. Are you the only one working on this? If so, wouldn't it be insanely hard to make, and wouldn't it also take years to complete?

Yes yes and yes but I'd love to have help to make it sooner.

Yes I'd love to.

If I create an expansion it'd be nice to have others help who want to do voices, or storylines or anything else.

If people want a skyrim expansion I'll need some help from other Modders and voice actors. Any volunteer?
