Which Elder Scrolls game is your favorite?

Thank you for voting.

This thread is to find out which one you liked most. Please feel free to tell me why you liked it so much. This is not a thread to find out which is the best, because my favorite may not be someone else's favorite and vice versa.

As for me, I would have to say Oblivion. I came into the series late and played Oblivion before playing Morrowind. If I had started with Morrowind, I probably would have enjoyed that better, but I was spoiled with Oblivion and it was difficult for me to go back in technology.

Oblivion was there for me during a rough patch in my life. I didn't understand it at first, and even got frustrated with it and put it down for a month or so. But I went back in and played it extensively, over 3,000 hours worth at least.

I also enjoy Oblivion because it gives you a small taste of every region (except perhaps Morrowind) right on one map in good quality definition.

The spells were great, giving you a huge range and the ability to customize your own.

Oblivion still holds my favorite dungeon template -- Oblivion itself. Those hellish nightmares of dungeons reminds me of my days of playing the retro Diablo games.

I like Oblivon's pick-up-and-play pacing. Within seconds you could be adventuring and the load times are quick. The looting system is much faster than in Skyrim.

I too played Oblivion for years over 2 gaming computers and a laptop LoL but once I tried Morrowind with MGSO 3.0 and all the updates I realized that it was clearly the superior game. I wish I would of tried it earlier but the way people described the game it sounded awful. Still when people describe MW it sounds so boring. Must be an age thing. The story of MW is so good that they have basically made oblivion and skyrim as refurbished Morrowinds. Just not as good... no where as close really. It is hard to explain but MW is amazing. A top 10 all time game for the ages.

My favorite is Morrowind. Morrowind achieved a great blend of old-style complex roleplaying mechanics and modern, easy-to-play mechanics. It hit a nice "sweet spot" for me.

It was rich in culture and politics. Its storytelling was full of intriguing ambiguities. Its art design was fantastic and wonderfully imaginative. Morrowind's architecture was unparallelled. I could tell which faction controlled a town before I even entered it just by observing the style of its architecture.

The game's sound design was awesome. More than one player has jumped out of a chair when hearing Morrowind's thunderstorms for the first time. And, last but not least, Jeremy Soule's music is, in my opinion, the best video game music I have ever heard.

My ranking of the vanilla games goes something like this:

1. Morrowind

2. Skyrim

3. Daggerfall

4. Oblivion

5. Arena

If we add mods into the equation then Oblivion shoots up to the top. Oblivion with mods is probably my favorite video game of all time.

Oblivion for me. I prefer it over Skyrim and I haven't played Morrowind enough yet, although it seems like it is probably the superior game. However, I believe Oblivion will always be my fav as I simply like it more than the other TES games. :D

Pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. I also don't understand why people would want it all to be rainforest (as Cyrodiil originally was I believe)... how boring would that be?? I dunno, maybe an endless jungle/rainforest just doesn't appeal to me. People would probably complain anyway... "Too many trees!!" Also, imagine the lag you would have got back then...

Morrowind. Story, atmosphere, alien creatures and world design, rewarding exploration, rpg stats, slow paced, less epic and more like a cultural journey. Crazy people and outfits combinations.
