For the people that get somewhat scared/freaked out or startled while deep into the game and concentrating, which enemy does that to you the most?

For me at has to be feral ghouls because they just pop up out of no where sometimes and they're on you almost instantly if you're not paying close attention. Also for some odd reason synths really creep me out, when I'm in a building and even though I can hear them calling me out I still get startled once in a while when I turn the corner and 5 of them instantly start shooting at me.

Mole rats, mostly because of the sound they make!

Unfortunately FO4 doesn't really have any of the scary factor found in any other Beth game. In terms of "oh [censored]!" factor I'd say Deathclaws definitely got a little freakier, though. Fast, dodgy and seemingly more intelligent for sure. At lvl 24 I avoid them like the plague.

I was pleasantly surprised at the feral ghouls. Their movements and as you said, ability to just be on you instantly is pretty awesome. The first encounter was shocking. And they can really gang up on you pretty quickly

Radscorpions.

'friggin Radscorpions and their 'friggin teleports.

I'd have to agree that the feral ghouls tend to startle me the most. As you say, they pop up out of nowhere and they're snarling like crazy.

Pretty much anything that sees me before I see it, but Ghouls probably have given me more "oh [censored]e" moments than any other single enemy.

Assaultrons.

Will never forget the first encounter with one at the Downs track and discovering it came equipped with a eye mounted doom laser.

I love the Deathclaw encounters. They really have me running scared. Which is unusual, since in most games, I take big enemies to be a slightly more aggravating challenge rather than something to avoid. But they aren't freaky per say (although the unpredictable ways they show up certainly scares me).

Bloodbugs, though, they just freak me out. IRL, I'm scared of daddy-long-leg spider (cellar spiders, not harvestmen) because of the legs and the way that the game simulates the dead blood bug corpses is just uncanny.

Those are, from the top of my head, the freakiest.

I forgot to mention the super mutant suiciders they always have me running whenever I hear that I'm like oh sh*t until I can get far enough back to VATS the arms hahaha

You think thats bad, try an Assaultron Dominater. They are smart, Tough, Cunning oh and they use Stealth when ever they want.

I feel a little chill up my spine when I hear the beep of the suicide mutant. I have been killed so many damn times by assultron's I hope there aren't any legendary ones afoot

Feral Ghouls and Radscorpions come out of flipping nowhere, and I know that if I don't react fast enough, I'm dead.

Assaultrons are [censored] scary. I recently met a legendary one that blew up like a mini-nuke after I defeated it. Scared the booblehead out of me.

I can't wait to find out just how much chameleon deathclaws will freak me...

My first mirelurk queen encounter was completely unexpected. Subsequently my ass was handed to me.

That was the first assaultron i saw besides Kello and i thought it was going to be easy but than it unleashed that megabeam that just burned my character to ashes.

In terms of 'scary', I would say Glowing Ones. Ghouls themselves are kind of scary, the Glowing Ones just get me.

In terms of battle; Super Mutant Suiciders in close quarters...not fun

For me, it's the ferals. When they climb through windows, out of grates, and drop down on me from above I'll just start frantically muttering expletives while trying (and usually failing) not to get swarmed. I also hate that I don't know which ones are going to get off the floor and try to eat me unless I enter VATS, and sometimes I can't even rely on that because they'll suddenly be around a corner when I KNOW I didn't hear anything 5 seconds ago. And they're so damn FAST I just... They freak me out. I actually dread an encounter with feral ghouls in this game.

Also, a couple people said the Super Mutant Suiciders and I agree. I panic when I hear their beeping, especially if I can't see where they are right away.

It's the ghouls for me. Whenever I'm in an area where I know they'll be (graveyards, tunnels/subways) I get really on edge. Constantly pressing LB to see if the ghoul on the ground is dead or is gonna jump up at me and scare the crap outta me.

Raiders don't scare me at all, I guess cuz they're just people. Super mutants can be scary if you turn quickly and there's one just there in your face, or as others have said, one with a damn mini nuke strapped to his arm barreling towards you.

Yea, the Suicide dudes automatically put me in run away mode, but at least you get to hear their beeps, so you kinda know how long you have before reloading if you don't run fast enough.

Based on the input thus far, it's ghouls in a landslide, well done Bethesda.

assualtrons, I feel like kyle reese trying to fight the terminator head on. sword hands, laser beam eyes, nuclear self destruct.... sentries are a close second.

By FAR the bloated putrid glowing ones scare me the most. They are freaky but also hit crazy hard for massive damage.

The way they move is un natural.

Assaultrons. So fast and relentless.

And Deathclaws, because.....Deathclaws.
