As I've never played Fallout.

Shame on you. :nono:

I recommend playing FO1 first if you ever decide to.

Something very vague, through dialogue perhaps. Actual items and such possible but should be hard to find. Maybe a joke to nuclear winter somehow?

I kind of like the idea of finding a random nuka-cola bottle in a large collection of potions in some random potion shop.

Also heres the way their connected. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36596 Its basically the same guy for the barbarian class picture.

I think something as subtle as a one-time reference to the player character or any other NPC as a "lone wanderer" would be enough,

I actually own FO3. :) I bought it, but I didn't have enough space left on the Windows partition of my harddrive (it's 125g ) to install it. One problem: my Oblivion install, including 321 mods (including merged mods and texture replacers, etc.) is now at 46 g.

But I'll look for FO1.

I'd go for 322 mods. Its turn based style, but I mainly like it for the story and replay value.

Maybe Harold, an unmoving unspeaking version of a tree that looks like a person is trapped within, or a skeleton in a cave somewhere called "lone wanderer"

I agree with Grognak, maybe not in person, but on a wanted poster or something of the sort.

a nod to fallout would be ok, nothign involving or obvious though.

Definitely give FO3 a shot. if you are on a decent PC you can pick up a 40 gb HDD for like 30 bucks. Grab that and a SATA cable and install it onto there. Or just spend 100 and buy a 2 TB lol.

Absolutely none. As I've never played Fallout, any cameos would be meaningless to me.

~ Dani ~ :)

So if you've never played Fallout, and wouldn't get the reference anyways, why would you choose "absolutely none"?

Grognak the Barbarian is already an Elder Scrolls reference.

That is correct. The cover of Grognak is almost identical to the icon used for the barbarian class in Oblivion.

Grognak the Barbarian..wouldn't be off lore and those who didn't knew would think it's just a normal Nord

Would also the love the Nuka Cola bottle though :P

I'd prefer nothing, but could live with a Nord called Grognak somewhere.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested a little blond kid called Pip.. ?

Yes, I played Oblivion and MW before FO3 and never realized the subtle cameo of grognak, nor did I care or something.
Nothing option in this pool doesn't mean much.

If you read the poll, it asks for "Fallout cameo(s) would you love to discover in Skyrim"? (Emphasis added.)

Since I've never played Fallout, logically I'd love to discover absolutely none.

It's like poking around a technical thread that you don't know a thing.
You wouldn't love, nor would you care. So why show people nothing is better than other alternative?

Maybe I should have added at the beginning two nothings:
"Nothing: I want fallout to stay away from TES"
"if it doesn't mess up with the lore, whatever"

Nigoki, you should accept that the majority in your poll is for no cameo. I've given my preference, but some people will not want the Fallout universe to infiltrate TES on any level.

As a Fallout fan/non-TES fan personally I don't want any references whatsoever in either franchise.

But as the devs are the same a nod is inevitable.

If there's a a reference it should be small(as in only 1) and entertaining without being relate to anything.

Grognak the Barbarian is the only appropriate choice. It's decently funny. That's as far as I'd want Fallout references to go. Only one and something that fits into the TES world, rather than a vault or cola bottle.

I think stumbling accross a nuka cola bottle or any other reference to Fallout for that matter would really svck you out of the immersion of the game world and give you a massive realisation that you are playing a game. Before you say it i know i am playing a game the whole time but what is special about the best games, such as the previous TES games is the fact that you become totally immersed in you game world. I dont want reminders that its just a game while im sneaking through a dungeoun or facing a dragon... So sorry, for me it is a big no.

few laughs or great moments are important and makes things memorable

I am reminded all the time by my peripheral vision that I'm playing a game, I certainly prefer great moments with great cameos than the immersion (I for one love immersion, used all the realistics mods for OB as fatique, health, played without UI, hunger, sleep ....)
