Which Film Director do you trust to make a New Vegas Film?

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 9:28 pm

Uwe Boll, Micheal Bay, and M. Knight Shyamalan.

Uwe Boll: Movie is panned by critics for being bad.
Michael Bay: Entire movie is one long drawn out fight between mutants and humans. Ten times as many explosions as the actual Great War. Courier yells "NO NO NO NO NO NO" every chance he gets. Jump cuts everywhere.
M. Knight Shamalan: At the end you find out the NCR has been working for the Enclave the entire time, and the Enclave is really a neo-communist faction that usurped control over the U.S. government just prior to the Great War.

So much schlock in this topic. If there was going to be a Fallout movie that I could be proud of, it would most likely be made by

Stanley Kubrick (dead)
Quentin Tarantino
Darren Aronofsky

Uwe Boll

I don't like his movies, but I like that he called out some of his critics to step up and box him a few rounds ~http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swg4SshYx2E

**I think I might have read that one of those bloggers was an amateur boxer as well (or better) I did not see that fight (if it happened).

L.Q Johns. He directed A Boy and His Dog, which the fallout gamed are influenced by. The Hughes brothers, if you've see the book of Eli they had a ton of the visual styles down. The movie kinda blew, but they didn't write it. No Tim Burton ever.

I remember watching the Book of Eli, that movie made my day by casting the voice of John Henry Eden.

Uwe Boll is such an awful director that I can't even believe people would seriously want him to be in control of a Hollywood release of the precious Fallout franchise. All of his most recent movies have been on "Worst Movie" lists everywhere. He insults and challenges critics rather than addressing their critiques. Everything he makes does poorly at the box office... And to top it all off he's just a vulgar, rude man, calling other directors "[censored]" and the like. If he was put in control of the New Vegas movie I would probably throw a fit, and I'm an advlt.

What? who?
Malcolm McDowell wasn't in Book of Eli (was he?)

Ever watch the Producers? (either I suppose, but I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGdY4jfhKRM&feature=related).

I've seen theories that Boll was secretly a tax loop-hole.

Gizmo:Yup, he was. He was the guy at Alcatraz.

I think Uwe Boll is a wimp, a challenge to a boxing match? Pfft. Why not just a standard 1v1 until one guy gives up or requires hospitalization? Any Fallout fan could beat the living crap out of him on the street if he EVER butchered the Fallout name. People are that dedicated to this series.

Which one? I thought that was Brent Spiner. (Commander Data)

some guy named Lombardi. I just checked IMDB, he goes uncredited in the movie which is bologna.

As an avid Enclave Radio listener, there was no denying him ^_^

I don't think it's theory as much as fact. And he literally is one of the worst directors alive. I seriously hope Mako was not serious about handing the rights to a New Vegas game to Boll.

No, that was a list of people the Dinos jokingly jest (only jokes people) as a joke (joke) were those who wrote Fallout 3s story, as a joke (just joking) of course.

I think Martin Scorsese would be brilliant with this. If you think about the Fallout story, aside from all of the killing, it's actually pretty emotional and intense. Courier gets shot, fate of the Mojave basically rests entirely with him/her. In addition to having to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. I've always found Scorsese to be very, I think 'raw' is a good word to use, in his approach and that's what I think a Fallout movie would need. Michael Bay is good for explosions but his story lines are terrible. Tarantino can be good, but some of his movies have a bad habit of becoming way too campy. It's really hit or miss with him. I adore Tim Burton, but you know if he directed it, it would become far more 'whimsical' rather than serious. That and I cannot imagine Johnny Depp as the Courier, which you know would be a given. (Side note on that thought-who would Helena Bonham Carter play? Julie Farkas?) Since I can't have Kubrick, Scorsese is it.

My second choice after David Lynch would be George Miller.

Australian director that wrote and directed the Mad Max films, Lorenzo's Oil, directed Happy Feet, and produced/wrote Babe.

My statement was pure sarcasm, sorry bro.

I was being semi-honest. Everyone knows Bay is the action scene explosion fighting fire crash smoke and doom guy.

But uh, the rest of his movies, well. Yeah.

He's kind of like you know, a savant. Except with movie explosions.
Good explosions, the rest is, just there in his movies.

So basically about roughly 40 minutes of Bayness would be pretty cool. Everything else some else could take it from there.

That would be cool.

Honestly I wouldn't want one to be made because the Fallout community already has enough to argue about as is :bolt:

I can see it being butchered now.... But if I had to choose... Micheal Bay, mainly because I love how he portrayed the Transformers series.

Gahhh :bolt:

Well... we all have our likes and preference, but I greatly disliked his first attempt, and as a 'benefit of the doubt', I went to see his second ~at the IMAX, and walked out less than 20 minutes in to it; (wanting to even before that, but I kept telling myself to give it a chance). :yuck:

I will not bother with any future installments that he makes to that franchise.

I guess so, a few Baysplosions would a nice touch just not one 2 hour megaBaysplosion with some words.

I don't think New Vegas would make a good movie. Maybe Honest Hearts would but not the main quest imo. I think Fallout 3 would make a better movie if your talking about the main quest, I think Tarantino would do good job sure, he can be a bit ridiculous sometimes but i think he could get it done. I think Ridley Scott would be a much better fit. Blade Runner is one of the best movies ever made. period. Ron Howard would be great too, Apollo 13 is probably my #1 or #2 fav films. He chose the cast very well. Francis Ford Coppola would be a great fit too, Stanley Kubrick would do great if he were still alive :sadvaultboy:.

I second Tarantino.

Now, if it was a Bethesda-style Fallout game, then I'd have to go with Zack Snyder.

Actually both would svck. NV because it has too much choices to mess up the cannon, and F3 because... well.. because the plot simply svcks.

It should go straight from Fallout 1, with the Vault Dweller Albert Cole as the main protagonist. :celebration:
