Which game to buy this October..

Post » Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:56 pm

Depends. Medal of Honor could get you more play time than Fallout New Vegas ever could. Because FNV is going to be a single player game, probably mostly like Fallout 3, worth only one long drawn out playthrough with anything other than that being bored. Same with Fable 3, although I expect the gameplay in Fable 3 to be more fun than FNV. Medal of Honor probably has a 6-10 hour single player, but if Dice do it right (like with BFBC2) the multiplayer in MoH could give you numerous amounts of hours.

Can't say much for the other games as I don't plan on playing them. In fact what I plan on buying is Two Worlds 2 and Fable 3. Might get MoH and FNV if I find they're worth the $7 I spend to rent them. Castlevania and Gothic 4 are also in that area. Truth is, October is gonna be a big month for games as you say, and the best is gonna lie in what you like to do. FPS multiplayer will give you more time than FNV, of course you might like what I find boring, so FNV could give you more time. Between FNV and Fable 3 it would depend on what type of RPG you like, and what setting it's in etc. I'm more akin to Fable 3, but that's just me.

Two Worlds II was delayed to January 2011 outside of Europe.... though I guess if you're in Europe you don't have to worry about that.

Oh, well that's good. Then it's only Castelvania for next week then, lightens my load a lot. Saves me some money until then too, even better.

TFU gameplay svcks, worst aiming system ever, and thats a terrible thing when you try to throw something at enemies only you pick up something that dosnt crush them...
I hated TFU gameplay, so much potential, and the unique destruction was BS. And the thing is they were already planning on making a umber 3 and 2 isnt even out yet, so its probabally a half assed game.

No it doesn't svck, you are just very bad at it. Maybe you should give it another try, with a little practice it really is a huge amount of fun. Shame about the sequel :(

Hey folks,

Alright, we all know how many awesome games are coming out this October, out of the above lists, I can only afford to get one. Although I genuinely want them all equally! I don't even care about reviews, I just wanna get em!

So tell me, fellas. Which one?

Renting is not an option in my region.

Get whatever you want..its your choice, if you like them equally then does it really matter which one you choose?

All im going to say is, out of those games im getting Fallout NewVegas since its in my top 5 favorite game series of all time :)

Well, Im incredibly torn by the decision. I can't get them all at once, so Im being forced to give preference to one. (Unless I save until I can afford to buy them all at once, but that'll take months :P )

I've learned from experience, if there's a crowd on Earth thats unconditionally correct, it's the crowd here on BGSF. I shall listen to the unanimous decision.

For now it seems like FNV is in the lead, however, I should bring to light the awesomeness of the others. Im a die-hard SW fan, I loved Fable II and III looks even better, I loved MoH since back on my PS2 days plus this one is in a modern setting, Sims 3 is offers endless customization options for characters, items, etc. and, (as you can see by my screenname) I love Assassins Creed aswell.

decisions, decisions...

I wait for sports games to get a little old before I get em. FIFA and NBA are pretty much the only sports games I have. (Except Fight Night Round 4, does boxing count as a sports game or fighting game?)

Fable III is the only game that's caught my eye on that list, though I'll be waiting for the PC version.

Are you playing on PC? I played both demos (on PC) and Fifa played really bad compared to PES. I've been a PES guy since PES 5 now (after buying Fifa from '98 to 2005).

*looks at tie fighter* *picks up a random storm trooper* *turns of console* No pretty sure the aiming svcks. Not a shame about the sequal, they should focus on making this game good, not about the next game, so im kinda glad they lost out, for thinking about the next game instead of making a decent one.

Nope, 360. I played both the FIFA and PES demos this year, and PES was truly woeful. That said, I got FIFA 10 on PC for £5 and could barely force myself through 5 games before just giving up, so I can see where you're coming from there.

FIFA has wiped the floor with PES on consoles since 09 though.
