Which graphic replacers do you use?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:48 pm

Hey, so 3 days ago i got my laptop and i was wondering what graphic overhauls i would be able to use..
Back in the old days (With my crappy old laptop) i used bomrets normal maps together with all of corepcs vibrant stuff, and that was awesome with allmost no perfomance hit.
So i was just wondering if my new system would be able to run fx quarls redimized and such, or if it would still be a good idea just to run the bomrets+vibrant combo?

My specs are:
Core i5 (450m) 2.4ghz turbo boost to 2.93 ghz
Ati mobility radeon hd 5650 1gb vram
8gb ddr3 ram

Any good tips for graphic replacers?
Which do you use?

You be fine to run QTP3R. I run it on a lesser system with no major problems. I would also recommend Detailed Terrain to go along with it.

Is there any comprehensive and updated guide to graphic replacers? I know about the texture overhaul site, but it's kinda old so.. :D

It's still pretty current, as there hasn't been a lot of work on the landscape texture front other than AmpolX's stuff, which would be beyond your card's ability anywhos.

CorePC's Vibrant Textures are pretty awesome, and use vanilla sizes, if you don't like QTP3R.

There's no performance hit at all with those two as they're both using default textures that have simply been enhanced.
