Which House Is Best For..

Post » Thu May 22, 2014 8:23 pm

I can't decide which house would be best for a mage type character. I'm playing as an High Elf. I'm looking for a house that best fits a mage character. I'm mostly looking for things such as decoration wise, location wise, and the available appliances (alchemy lab, book shelves, etc).

Which house though? Lakeview doesn't seem much like a mage setting.

none of them seem like a mage setting to me, but that is because it is based off of what additions you put.

Isnt the hearthfire home in Morthol a little more mage fitting, in the secluded sense

i'd say Falkreath to be honest.. it is the cloesest (geographically) to places on can buy books, and looking at the view of the lake from atop one of the towers seems like a very relaxing place to read to be honest

all the Hearthfire homes are the same, except for location

Depending on what kind of a mage are you, Hjerim's history and secret room have some potential for roleplay uses.

Imo, the best HF house to build for a mage is the one near Dawnstar. Fairly secluded, but in between the College and Whiterun (and Dawnstar obviously).

Falkreath I think is better for a warrior type, and morthal for a rogue (because of it's proximity to certain ingredients for paralysis, damage health, and lingering damage health).

Really though, any type would fit any character class imo, but it really depends on your character's personality. Of the standard houses, I think Windhelm provides the best for a mage because of the secret room for enchanting and alchemy. And of course, when you're the Arch-Mage you get the main quarters at the college which is the best guild leader room, and it comes amply stocked with many cool amenities.
