which House is the best?

Post » Sun Dec 04, 2011 11:29 am

I know there are several you can chose from, some purchased, some free after certain quests are complete.. I currently own a home in whiterun, what I wanted to know if others have purchased homes elsewhere and possibly describe how they like it..

1) how easy is the house to access
2) how many storage containers (mine only has one container which svcks for organizing)

You can upgrade your house equipment. See the steward.

Yes, and I have a house in Markarth, which was extremely expensive (12,000 to fully deck it out), but it is awesome.

I only have my house in Whiterun to compare it to, but it is way way cooler than it.

Woops sorry you mean actual houses.

In that case it depends what you are looking for. Proudspire Manor in Solitude is the biggest and most regal but also the most expensive. The base cost alone is 25000 and additions take it up to 38000. It's easy to access near the Blue Palace which you can fast travel to and only takes a quick dungeon romp to become available. Certainly the "best" house though.

Vlindrel Hall in Markath is pretty awesome as it's located in an interesting city and for the cost it's pretty big and unique. Who wouldn't want to live in a Dwemer home? 8000 is a steal for it and 12000 for fully upgraded isn't bad. Just do some quests for the Jarl's steward.

I own the house in whiterun so far. I wonder, is there a house that has, even more chests, an Arcane enchanter, and maybe a forge ? :)

Usually you have to do all the quests for the Jarl.

For some reason he doesnt give me the option to upgrade my house, is there another set of quests I need to do before I can upgrade my house in whiterun?

You only need to do one quest to unlock the house in Solitude. Go to the Blue Palace, talk to the Jarl and her steward.

i did the quest for the firebeard that involved the wolf queen (both of them), and i got nothing, no option or anything to buy. i do have a quest from the woman on the throne to get some crown though. im so confused because every town is like this, i never can buy a house

Never mind, apparently if you ask him about upgrading your house after you have woken him up he doesn't offer it lol.. came back during the day and he had the option available.

I've got 3 houses now, all fully kitted out.

I'm annoyed at the lack of weapon racks and the fact that there are no armour stands. I shall have to hope someone creats mods for this or *gulp* try creating my own..

Talk to the steward. He is to the left of the Jarl.
