Which House is your favorite?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:10 am

Just curious. I use a couple different, such as the Wizard's Tower and the Thieves Den. But i was thinking of buying the house in Skingrad. Is it worth it? Or do you recommend a different one?

DLC, or vanilla.

Are you asking which DLC? or Vanilla?

Edit: DLC I prefer Frostcrag Spire
Vanilla: depends on my character. Usually Arborwatch though

Each of the vanilla and DLC houses have their pros and cons. I believe the biggest factor in choosing is the nature of your character and what suits them best.

Skingrad? Objectively speaking, it is extremely pricey, very big, has an optional maid, has a reasonably central location.

Subjectively, I don't care for it. I find it too big and pretentious.

...well, I really like spending time at my skingrad 3 story...after getting all the upgrades and the maid, it was my main hq for a while... then I got frostcrag spire and everything else paled in comparison...I will say deepscorn hollow is super awesome in it's own dark way too, with a private garden (not as big as frostcrags, but still healthy) and a secret exit for maximum stealth.

I don't have DLC, but I think my favourite houses would be Benirus Manor and Arborwatch. While Rosethorn Hall is very nice, its pricey (as is Arborwatch), but there's just something i don't like about it,
As for Benirus Manor, I really like the architecture, and its cheap.

I find that none of the Vanilla houses are big and pretentious enough. :P And I don't have any DLCs, so...

Maybe Arborwatch, it has the best location and the coolest name by far.

Dude download a mod called Verona House, it has a very nice questline and at the end you get an estate. You can hire an alchemist, librarian, mage, ground watchman, maid, secretary, armourer, and combat trainer. The house itself is HUGE and has lots of nifty features, like a button that takes and categorises all your alchemical ingredients into neat little boxes and another for weapons, etc.

Battehorn Castle from the Fighters Stronghold DLC. But not every character deserves that. Im pretty much okay with all houses, and between all of my characters I've owned all of them at one point..

Been there, done that. :P A few of my characters used that house at some point. This thread was asking for Vanilla homes, though.

I like the big one in Skingrad, because it actually has an interesting quest and looks nice and has a maid, and also I love Skingrad, although I haven't done the Anvil one which is supposedly awesome.

The Cheydinhal house is actually rather spacious and nice. That's where I reside these days.

The Bruma house, hands down

Btw, this should have been a poll. Love polls as some may have understood by now :hubbahubba:

Frostcrag is my favorite.

However not all my characters get it. Some just have the Vile Lair, or Battlehorn.

I'm not sure of my favorite vanilla house. Oddly it might be the Waterfront Shack because of it's central location, or the Bravil house because of it's closeness to Shivering Isles. Chorrol is a very pleasant house as is Anvil once it's cleaned up. Skingrad is theoretically the best, but I think it's too big and pretentious for many characters.

Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad is my favorite house, though I like many of the others. It has display cases, if you like to take the time to personalize your house by placing items, weapons, or armor on display at your own discretion, and you can hire a servant (the woman in the shop where you buy the furnishings, although she can get very annoying at times). I love that house, and I decorate differently every time I have a new character.

Benirus Manor over in Anvil. Biggest, most storage space and it has a secrete room. You can display lots of stuff in that room on the alter and raised stone platform.

The Bruma house gets allot of use during the main quest. Arborwatch over in Chorrol is a nice place to set up a real library.

I like Arborwatch in Chorrol and a close second is the house in Bruma.

I kinda like the shack on the waterfront. Just because it has a bit more character to it, and its nice and out of the way for theives/dark brother hood activities :)
