Codsworth...it seems to be I neither can order him for garden acitivities nor for guard duty in Sanctuary. Which job do you give Codsworth?

he cant be given a job

Every time I assign him to crops he sticks on it only until I leave Sanctuary ... then he reverts to being unassigned. Safest to just treat him like any other non-assignable companion.
