Which land has a better "feel"? poll

Post » Tue Jul 30, 2013 6:11 am

Which place do you like the feel and atmosphere of better, Skyrim or Solstheim? I personally prefer Solstheim, but I still love Skyrim. Solstheim just feels a little more menacing and mystical to me. It has a little bit of what made Morrowind so cool.

Skyrim is good atmosphere, but Solstheim is full of atmosphere. Looking at the Red Mountain from the ashen shores with Tel Mithryn on the side and Morrowind's music playing in the background.. hnggg.

Granted most of that is nostalgic atmosphere.

Might as well name this this poll to "Which brown and gray area do you like better?" With that said Skyrim.

One place is filled with primitive, magic fearing, warmongering savages. The other place is filled with jerk slave-mongering sycophants.

I went with Solstheim because it is close to my Lord Hermaues Mora. I also tend to inherit Miraak's temple as my own complete with my own minions and cultists. And at least the Dunmer can read a book and aren't too bothered by my experiments. And Neloth's my bro.

Are you going to drive out the N'wah? or make them your servents? D: Then after that i guess you will enslave the people of skyrim? and after that cyrodiil? after that rest of tamriel?

I don't like Solstheim because the ash gets old very quick.

But give me Forgotten Vale over the two any day.

Solstheim, because its more neutral,theme/atmosphere wise. You feel right, playing any ''class'' and any race.

Skyrim is too much nordish(dragonborn lore[yes there was a dunmer dragonborn Septim Empress, but still),weapons, armor, soundtrack),which makes you kinda uncomfortable playing a race that is not a nord or human in general.

Solstheim smells of death, among other things. :D

I may be new to the series, but that's my favorite track on Solstheim.

Just went to Solstheim for the first time a few days ago, and THIS, http://i.imgur.com/E1ycwCv.jpg. But I dont know if I would have been so overwhelmed without all that Morrowind nostalgia.

Skyrim. Never played Morrowind, so I don't get the nostalgia shivers.

Every time I play through DB, I get fatigued and start grinding through the end of it so I can get back to Skyrim.

That, plus I'd take Forsworn over Rieklings every day of the week. And I hate Forsworn so much I don't visit Markarth on half my playthroughs.

Never played Morrowind, though watching videos of it on YouTube is what made me find this awesome series, so I kind of have nostalgic feels for Morrowind. :P

Voted Solstheim, because I like the mystic, alien atmosphere better than the mundane atmosphere found in Skyrim and Cyrodiil. :)

Funny how Solstheim worked in opposite ways for Morrowind vs. Skyrim. In Morrowind add-on it introduced Nord culture and offered a setting that was less fantasy based. In Skyrim's add on it re-introduced Morrowind's culture and, while I wouldn't quite call it fantasy on the level of Morrowind, the Dragonborn MQ involved a high level of Mysticism.

As a further observation, Oblivion's main game was closer to Skyrim in realism and too had a Morrowind-esque add-on with the Shivering Isles, so this inverse proportionality has existed across the last three games.

Skyrim has a more refreshing, but dangerous feel to it. Solstheim has a more mysterious feel to it.

Skyrim is what I'd imagine biting into a York Peppermint Patty would look like rather than taste like. It's like you could go there and breath in deeply and just feel so refreshed, as long as something doesn't kill you. The warm and hearty inns on the stark contrast of the cold and wintry Skyrim slopes.
