Which mods complement Frostfall?

Post » Mon Jun 09, 2014 11:38 pm

Hiya, recently installed Frostfall, had a brief play around and its fantastic already! Just wondered which are the best mods to complement it? I'm aware Realistic Needs and Disease and Winter is Coming work well but are there any other hidden gems that would complement the mod?

Thanks guys!

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32448/? lets you access woodpiles, for example. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27563/? gives dynamic wet and cold features.

Drinking fountains of Skyrim, they add several fountains throughout the city that can be used to fill all your bottles and water skins.

Then there's Bandoliers - Bags and pouches, mod adds several bags, backpacks, bookholders, potion belts and whatnot, and in comes in several versions, from version that makes all these items give you extra space, to unenchanted version which lacks that effect but lets you enchant all the bags with enchantments of your choice.

Cloaks of Skyrim also works well, adds protection against cold and rain.

SkyRe will probably not work for you as it goes way out of the scope of "complementing" Frostfall, it's basically a complete overhaul, but I think it's worth mentioning as it features a tree called The Wayfarer that is used just for Frostfall users; perks support your skills with using and making bear and sipke traps, add immunity to diseases, improve your resourcefulness etc.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38507/? is an alternative. (It also has a patch for Open Cities.)

Here are the ones that I use

Cloaks of Skyrim - adds cloaks and different helms/hoods to the npc's

Winter is coming - adds fur cloaks and hoods to the player for added warmth

Leather Tents and bedroll - makes your tent and any other tents in the game look a lot better

Wet and Cold - tells you when you are wet, cold, etc

Belt Fastened Quivers - is you use a bow, it drops the quiver below the backpack

Real Shelter - you can get under eves and take shelter from the rain

They all worked good together and there was no problem. There is another one called Realistic Needs, I think, but I never used it. Hope this helps.

Portable Campsite is compatible and makes building a fire a quicker thing. I believe all of the cloaks from Cloaks of Skyrim also give warmth.

You should be able to add it in whenever. Really nice to have for quickly gathering wood.

Ah, I learned the hard way not to go mad with adding and replacing mods mid game. Luckily, I'm nearly done with this character.

I've been in the spot the author describes too often though - getting cold, some unusable wood nearby, better gather some wood, manage to gather 3 wood with frostfall, freeze to death.
