I know Mammoths give them and I'm pretty sure Draugr Deathlords do but other than that I don't really know and I'm trying to fill about 20 empty ones. Anyone have a quick reference list or something?

Briarhearts can depending on your (and therefore their) level.

Master Volkihar Vampires do as well.

I know giants give grand souls.

Frost trolls might give them too, not sure on that, but I know giants do.

I'm looking to fill GRAND soul gems, not black. I need Monsters that fill Grand Soul Gems with a Grand Soul when killed..

Also, Giant's don't. They give Greater Souls.

P.S. Shadowmere is the worst thing in the game. [censored] hate him following me around and attacking everything I snipe...

Draughr Death Lords are Grand, so are Giants. Hell I just have the black star and get all my grand souls that way lol.

Yeah having one gem I have to go outside and refill every time I need a new enchant isn't happening. Giants don't give grand souls.

My mistake. Yeah, I forgot that they were black souls. I was just thinking purely in terms of what level they get to. Yeah, I don't know if anything else but dragur deathlords and death overlords can scale that high.

I think it's vampires do and it's random also.

Grand souls are creatures over level 38. So, generally it would be a higher level draugr or a mammoth.

I have found an easier way. Most necromancer lairs have an enchanting table. Soul trap a necromancer in the Black Star, make your way to altar, rinse and repeat. A great way to level enchanting and conjuration, as well as making money. Haven't figured out if you can soultrap raised NPCs yet, though.

On topic: I think Mammoths are the best bet for grand soul farming. Dragon priest and higher level falmer are also possibilities.

Haha, and here I was sneaking around Dragonsreach picking off Guards and innocent, sweeping old ladies to fill The Black Star while enchanting there.

Mammoths are the easiest Grand souls to harvest. They are all over the place.

(aside from black souls, obviously)
