Which Music Score is the best?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:27 am

Try to look at it from a stand point that isn't completely pumped about Skyrim.

Quoting myself from http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165007-do-you-like-skyrims-theme-music/ thread:

I really like the melody; it's iconic for the Elder Scrolls by now. However, my favourite interpretation by far was Morrowind's - simply beautiful. Sure, Skyrim's one fits the rugged feel of Skyrim, but I just prefer Morrowind's instrumental piece (although Skyrim's chants are also undeniably cool.)

Oh and I think Oblivion's one did a generally poor choice of conveying an imperial, regal feel - missed chance for some great anthems worthy of mighty empires imo.

Edit: Wow, didn't know about the mix of all three. After hearing it now, all I can say is - epic :D (except for the end, but I won't nitpick)

It's really hard to judge. Morrowind slowly grew on me, and then one day it just became Awsome. I didn't care for Oblivion because it wasn't Morrowind, but eventually it grew on me as well. I do like Skyrim pretty quickly, and think I iwll like it more, as I play the game. So a bit hard to judge. It could be the excitement, or just need more time "gell" with it.

As of right now, Morrowind. Partially from the nostalgia that comes with it.

But i really liked the sound of Skyrims theme in the GI video. Can't wait to here the rest!

I personally thin Skyrim is the best. From me it is the most epic.

Morrowind is the best work definitly. The mix was kinda eh... I would say Morrowind, then Skyrim, Oblivion, and the mix. From best to worst.

To me Skyrim's theme blows Morrowind's and Oblivion's themes away.

Same for me, for some reason Oblivion's just doesn't stand out as much.

I like Skyrim best
Oblivion second
Morrowind last becuase its just too slow, its not really a sense of adventure as the other 2 its just sadness

I can't pick between the Morrowind and Skyrim themes! How dare you force me to chose!

I've been listening to the Skyrim theme on the GI "Composing Skyrim's theme" video over, and over, and over again, It's so epic! And Morrowinds theme is a classic, truly brilliant.

There is no answer I can give......

Edit: The Choir in Skyrims theme has won me over, I'm voting for Skyrim.

you guys don't realize that that isn't skyrim's full theme. its just the trailer music. you can hear a bit of the actual version in the sound design video in the GI hub.
and i don't know about you guys, but what they have there tops oblivion and morrowind ten fold. although i do like morrowind's theme better than oblivion's.
and i don't know if you guys noticed, but in the opening cutscene in oblivion its a different version of its theme than what we hear in the title screen.
the one in the intro is better than morrowind's theme.

I prefer Skyrim's quite a bit more than both. Simply much more intense and "hardcoe/raw" feel over the more fantasy feel of TES3/4 Theme - which i prefer.

I like morrowind's the best, but that's probably just from nostalgia. for some reason i can't get into the skyrim theme, im sure it will grow on me.

this theme seems better

if you haven't watched it, dont, you won't be able to stop watching it.

Holy [censored], what is this?
Forged in God's very flames.

Do mine eyes tell me lies,
A new Elder Scrolls Game?

Time is nigh, I must fly,
Venture forth on my quest.

Goodbye Ma, goodbye Pa
And goodbye Girlfriend's briasts.

I'll be off Azeroth, catch you later Hyrule.
I'll be gone Albion, I'm no longer your fool.

Other crap filled the gap
While I waited to begin...

The adventure of my life
in the land of Skyrim!

I put skyrim, but honestly, a tie between Morrowind and Skyrim. Morrowind's theme was just ...awesome, fantasy based, new and fresh. Oblivion's was a bit ... plain and I really like the grandeur scale of the Skyrim theme.

Morrowind has the nostalgia factor, makes me tingle every time I hear it. Skyrim is just strait up epic, and makes me feel a sort of preemptive nostalgia: even though I've not played the game, I feel like I know what it is like and that it is awesome. Skyrim wins.
