Which New Features Are You Drooling Over?

Post » Sun Aug 14, 2011 10:22 pm

I admit, for some reason, I'm really looking forward to the talking door. It's weird things like this that intrigue me. I wonder what other kinds of oddities there will be to find and explore in Skyrim. I'm hoping they'll have a ton more interesting stuff like this in it.

I'm really enjoying the details about character creation. Sounds as though the options are many and varied. For people who just want to jump in and have something decent, the option is there, where as if someone wants to get very detailed, that too is there. For the first time, feels as though my character will be tremendously unique due to sliders and fine details in face and body type.

Radiant story is sounding much better than I thought. With animals actually having a food chain apparently, with wolves chasing rabbits, and I'm not sure what would chase wolves but it's got me anticipating to find out. Also, the companion sub faction, I'm guessing, was attacking a giant. That makes the world believable. I just hope the event wasn't scripted, if that was radiant story then wonderful.

And smithing sounds interesting. With 6 levels to upgrade to. I'm very interested to see how smithing works and what they've done with it. Whether armor can be specifically customed in design or not, I don't know, but I'm hoping. The upgrades has me wondering if a certain armor type has a set rating or whether say a iron piece can be upgraded to the quality of say orcish. I don't know, but it has me excited.

Don't forget the door that talks. I hope scernarios unique like that are spread throughout Skyrim.

Combat sounds really fluid. I like that. Everyone has said combat looks good, and the way combat is handled can make or break a game so good to hear combat is coming along very well.

And basically, all of the announcements in general have me more anxiously waiting than before. I simply can not wait for this game!

It would spoil it for me to read all of the features, its much more exiting when something cool you figured out you can do comes as a surprise.

In Oblivion, we had the exact same ominous talking doors with pictures of skull and an open hand on them.

But I do not want to spoil the concept, for the ones not familiar with them.

1. Alchemy, omg. To have to try to find the use of each ingredient? YES! They actually made the game MORE difficult!

2. The fact that there seem to be an interesting crafting system. Cotton, leather strings, mining metals and creating ingots, it almost seems as if we will be able to make armours ourselves from scratch.

The talk about AI, and what characters will and wont do, I refuse to believe any of it until I see it in action myself. Most of it is probably bs or hype.

Unfortunately there are only 20 choices. Also dynamic shadows was confirmed several months ago, so it is not really a new feature. That said, I'm also  :celebration: about dynamic shadows.

Ah true, isn't really a new feature. But, oh my god, level design is going to be 100000x easier with dynamic shadows! I CANNOT WAIT! Ahhhhh!!!!

You don't have the friendship/ romance/marriage part in the poll - that is the feature that interests me the most - I'm very curious about how it will work in Skyrim.

You presented us with all the bright-sides of all the new information we've been given and gave us the option to choose as many as we'd like as to what we're excited about...

I'm sorry, but it seems kinda pointless.

A suggestion: Make this a thread where people choose the feature they are MOST excited about and give them one choice. THAT way your thread will be beneficial, not redundant and will show results.

i hope that crafting is similar to dark messiahs which is the only game that i reloaded my save twice just to craft my sword again. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_zIgTWWQJM

spell tomes were already in oblivion so i dont think thats new.

im more interested in how the companions are going to be since id rather have a party of 4 "normal" heroes instead of one godlike hero. i hope they took some cues from talkie toasters companion mods http://www.youtube.com/user/TheTalkieToaster#p/u/0/86vB76qbjyg
