Which NPCs do you find most often randomly dying?

I got a letter of Inheritance from Dravin Llanith. For some reason, ive found this to be pretty inevitable if you go anywhere near him. In any game where I've helped him, he's ended up dead. I assume he died in other games before I could get around to doing so, but I woudlnt have known about it.

And for some reason, one of the drunks that was harassing Dunmer in Windhelm when you first go there usually ends up dead too, in the street. Never seen what kills him. Ive seen spiders kill Dravin, but always just wind up seeing the other guy's corpse in Windhelm with no explanation.

Anyone else have unusually death prone NPCs in your games?

I'm going to assume that they're dying because of vampire attacks thanks to Dawnguard. This happened to me on my first playthrough because I didn't realize that entering towns after nightfall triggers a lot of these attacks. I restarted (mainly do to some annoying, unfixable console quest issues) and now that I don't fast travel (the game is so much more enjoyable like this), and I make sure to not enter towns at night, I've yet to encounter a dead NPC after 50 hours into the game.

Adrianne Avenicci dies in about 80% of my games. Many characters rent rooms at The Bannered Mare during the early levels of their games. When they exit the Bannered Mare the next morning there is likely to be a Vampire attack in progress by the front gate, just a few feet from where Adrianne Avenicci stands. Before my character can sprint to the spot to help out, she's dead.

Leave the two Redguard warriors at the gate.. that will cut down on her dying. It's what I did on 360... It improves her chances of living. and at that point they are essential.

" Dawnguard sentries" + "When vampires attack" helps even more, ( on PC). One of the guards leans against the pole that she generally leans against. If she doesn't run inside quickly enough.

I know it's a bit immersion breaking, but it's the one place I'll find a good reason for it.

The two guys you help when you free Kolskeggr Mine seem to just immediately die after I complete their sidequest. I don't know why. I guess maybe that location had its enemies reset offscreen and they killed the two of them?

The dude that works at the Whiterun stables always end up lying in the middle of the road dead at some point during my games. Not sure what that's all about.

It's usually vampires or their hell hounds for this NPC as well as Adrianne the smith.

I too find the When Vampires Attack and Run for Your Lives mods to be invaluable. (but I also leave the Redguards at the gate just in case!)

I hate the whole Dawnguard DLC. lol It acutally doesn't bother me either way about the stables guy, in fact I suppose there is an element of realism in that if vampires were to attack, most NPC's in the game wouldn't stand a chance. I don't really need the guy for anything anyway, it's just that these vampires are annoying. In my current playthough, I'm completely ignoring the Dawnguard stuff. Serana can just stay in her little coffin for eternity as far as I'm concerned. :)

About the Redguards - the first time I played through, I actually went against the lady at the Bannered Mare and gave her up. When you do that, the Redguards at the gate never show up.

I don't care for that DLC either, but I don't like losing NPCs at all, especially in Whiterun. I lost so many when I played the 360, that I've taken care of that now problem now with mods. :)
