Which Nvidia Driver?

Post » Wed Mar 12, 2014 8:00 am

Hey, all:)

Anyone have any opinions or input on which NVidia driver may be best suited for ESO currently?

I am currently using 334.89, the one released just a few weeks ago. So far in Beta, all has worked well with my GTX 650. However, the new release of 335.23 is available. It does not seem to affect ESO. Anyone have an opinion as to update or stay with what is working?

Also, is there a chance NVidia will put out a new driver suited just to ESO closer to launch?

Thks for any insight.

The latest driver isn't optimized for Eso.

When eso releases, they will optimize it and you will get a new update for it later.

As for now, you run with what you have, it will make little difference.

I'm guessing the just released 335 driver might have some last minute tweaks for ESO. Hard to say, companies don't always list all bugs fixes. Some of the BF4 users reported they were seeing more frames (not fps) and fewer CPU spikes with the newer driver, even though there was nothing about BF4 in the release notes.

Easy answer is run the game on next beta or release, if it seems to be having issues, start checking drivers. Or at least keep an eye on the drivers for any ESO updates

Nah...this is more directed towards the GTX 750 than anything else.

Im also using the GTX 650. I updated my driver yesterday, I guess its always good to have the latest driver no matter if it optimizes TESO or not.

lol....don't even try using the Geforce requirements check. Its all a scam.

They will tell you that your card (although runs t minimum requirements for Eso) is below the recommended requirements & you will need to updare to a GTX 550 at least..

Scammers.

Im running a GTX 650 Ti....it works well.

That seems odd that it would tell you to downgrade to a GTX550. I ran the anolyzer on my system running a GTX 570 and it told me I met the requirements for ESO. So where is the scam?

Ahh...it was a GTX 560Ti....which seems to have a slightly better performance than the 650Ti.

My mistake.

I would say it's a bug, I just ran the test with a old GT 9600. All it told me is I didn't meet the minimum requirement and that I need at least a 8800 GT. At first glance you might say that's a con, but if you look at various benchmarking sites, they all show the 8800GT is better than the 9600GT. The 9600 could probably play it good enough compared to a 8800, but the 8800 is considered the minimum card to have, the 9600 performs worse than the 8800, so it make perfect sense for them to recommend the 8800. They didn't tell me I needed a GTX 780

The 550ti and 650ti looks to be pretty close in specs, on paper the 650TI should be better. I ran the anolyzer using a AMD card and it came back and said it meet the requirements. I think if you ran the test with just about any other card, you would have gotten a "meets requirements" You found a bug, and should report it :icecream:
