Which Oblivion voice actors should be back?

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:11 pm

I apologize for not knowing most of the actor's names. Anyway, who should be back? Or should everyone be brand new to keep things fresh? Personally, the only one that impressed me in Oblivion was Wes Johnson. Not too crazy about anyone else.

I hope Wes Johnson is in the game.

What I'm about to suggest needs to be done regardless of anything else that Bethesda does with Voice Acting. There needs to be Different Voice Actors for each race. Don't have one person do two races, or three races, or even 4 races.

Who did three or 4 races? The most there was were two races which were nord/orc and then Khajiit/Argonian. I hope all the voice actors from Oblivion return to voice different NPCs but Bethesda already said that they hired alot more voice actors for Skyrim.

One of the voice actors did Male Argonians, Male Khajitt, Male Orc and Male Nord.

Wes Johnson (Imperials, Sheogorath, Dremora)
Male Khajit/Argonians
Male Nords/Orcs
Michael Mack (Male Redguards)
Female Elves (but I forgot to vote for them...)
Female Reguards

But on further thought, all of them, as long as there are more voice actors no problem!

I know for a fact who I don't want back: the male elves. That voice was a parody and ruined a lot of npcs for me

I say bring back all of them along with a whole bunch of new voice actors as well + voices from Morrowind (especially Dunmer, Bosmer and Altmer voices)! :tops:

Jeff Baker for sure as he would be perfect for the elves.

Male Imperials, male and female Redguards, and female Elves (for the Dunmer only like in MW).

But they all didn't sound the same. only the Argonians and khajiit sounded the same and orc and nord sounded the same. Just because the same guy did all four of them doesn't matter, as long as they sounded different.

Wes Johnson, Michael Mack, Jeff Baker and whoever did the Male Nord voice in Morrowind.

He did a good job too as I never realized that the same Male Voice actor did the voices of the Male Argonian/Khajitt and Male Orc/Nord until I looked it up on the UESP.

Wes Johnson.
Male Argonian/Khajiit.
Female Argonian/Khajiit.
Michael Mack.

I think it's very important that Bethesda get the Nord voices right this time. I didn't like the voices for Nords in Oblivion.

None, its a waste of money and a not so male requirement.

Whoever did Lucien LaChance obviously needs to make a return.

And if the person that did Haskill was the voice of Dunmer males in Morrowind, I'd really hope he returns and does Dunmer voices in a MW-esque way.

Yep, he did do a good job. I did the same thing a couple years ago when I decided to look up the voice actors. I was shocked. But also alot of the voice actors in Oblivion also voiced NPCs in Morrowind too.

Yeah, Wes Johnson really sold Lucien LaChance to me. I was really sad that Lucien was killed.

Definitely Wes Johnson. I love the voice of pretty much everyone he voiced, including Lucien Lachance, the arena announcer, Sheogorath, and Mr. Burke from Fallout 3.

Oh, I really want Morrowind's male Nord voice back. They actually had an accent!

Jeff Bakre I believe? Definitely need him to be at least one possible voice for the Dunmer. Some would argue from the Oblivion E3 demo that fully voiced dialog in that style would be annoying, but personally I think if he keeps the raspiness to a minimum (think Jiub), it would be awesome.

I only never liked the voices of female Dunmer, however they did make them a very distinct race, very alien imo.

Edit: Oh, and the person who should definitely be back is Lynda Carter, sixiest voice ever! :shocking:

Wes Johnson was my favorite voice actor in Oblivion. He should be back.

The guy who did the elves was pretty good though, just overused, and he had a lot of roles that did not fit him. He did a good job in Fallout 3, and did not sound ridiculous at all...

The woman who did the elves, I'd like her to continue voice acting dark elves. She did the dark elf women in Morrowind.

Michael Mack was also pretty good, I would not mind him doing a return either.

Also the beast race guy was good...

Edit:
The guy that voiced Haskill, he did the dark elves in Morrowind. I want him to voice more dark elves.

I think they need the voice actor(s) they had for the Dunmer in Morrowind back, because those coarse voice really gave the Dunmer character. Much better than the Oblivion British aristocrat voice. Otherwise yes I think all of the previous voice actors should return. However I think they need to hire a slew of other voice actors as well to add diversity.

I know they hired new voice actors, but I hope they still keep the ones from previous games. It's not that the Oblivion voices were bad, it was just monotonous

I hated the female Redguard voice in Oblivion. It sounded like she was just some woman they brought in from the street and told her to read the lines.
