I am interested in trying out the Fallout series, and thus I would to ask you all whether I should try Fallout 3 or Fallout: NV first. I can only choose one at the moment.

I voted Vegas because it is simply a better and more faithful Fallout game (not so much gameplaywise, but all other respctive aspects), whereas Fallout 3 is more reminiscent of TES (though you might like it on its own merits, what ever you may consider those to be).

Fallout 3 will feel like a downgrade if you play it second, so I say play it first, even if you just power through it. I duno about you, but I find it very difficult to go back once ive played newer games.

Second vote for Fallout 3 first. I enjoyed Fallout 3, but Echonite is correct about trying to play Fallout 3 after playing New Vegas.
