Which one of your Elder Scrolls PCs did you like the most?

Post » Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:02 pm

So guys, which of your player characters did you like the most. I know this is a pretty difficult question(Depending on how you play).

Describe them if you want, and feel free to post pictures of them is you have them. Please be appropriate though.

Nevarine , I can't really say why you enter an Island and well I have no backup why really I just like the Nevarine. Even though I have played Oblivion much more.

This seems too much like a remake of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1086685-most-powerful-tes-protagonist/.

that one is about which would win in a fight, this one seems to be about which one of your characters (as opposed to generic protagonist) you liked the most.

Nerevarine for me. I'm named after her.

The Champion of Cyrodiil is my favorite. The Champion of Cyrodiil is also the Divine Crusader and Sheogorath(a Shezzarine and a Daedric Prince), is he/she not?

Man. Saying that just made it seem like the PC from Oblivion is the most powerful person in the universe.

I voted Oblivion because despite the bad faces, I could get my character looking pretty good.

Morrowind just gave me a bunch of faces and hairstyles that I didn't dig that much. But other than that, I would have liked the Nerevarine better...

Maybe. It depends on how one views the events in TES IV. There's a lot of talk saying that the only the thing the CoC does it the MQ, and it's different people for the different guilds, expansions, etc, but for ease of programming it's through the same person in the game, but lore wise they're different people.

SI gives a perfectly mysterious end to the CoC's story and give the perfect explanation for his/her disappearance, which fits in with TES tradition. TES expansions and large DLC seem to give off that "Bethesda wants them, unlike guilds, to be considered canon" vibe. Nobody has to complete the main quest, but it is canon, even if your character is a blood-craving, vampiric assassin who just stole the Chim el-Adabal and never bothered with the main quest.

Not what I'm saying. There is a debate going on wondering whether it was the CoC that did, say, the SI quests, or someone else. Same with the guild quests, etc, etc, etc.

Basically, it just ends the CoC's story in a perfectly mysterious way. That's why I believe SI's main story was canonly completed by the CoC. Also, who else in Cyrodiil at that time would/could/should have survived that realm of Oblivion and who else would/could/should save Tamriel from Umaril and, in a sense, mantle Shezzar by taking Pelinal Whitestrake's place at that time? Such great feats, which were more fitting for a hero than just any powerful wizard or skilled warrior, unlike the guild quests, could have only been accomplished by a great hero, and I only saw once such hero helping Martin out and saving Tamriel from Dagon. The CoC lived on after the main quest was completed, would have likely investigated rumors of the end of the world(KotN), and would have likely investigated the strange door of the Niben Bay, which is another Oblivion gate(CoC specializes in dealing with these). Such a hero would disappear mysteriously as other Elder Scrolls heroes do and become Sheogorath, therefore staying in the Isles and out of Tamriel, where he/she would have once lived. It seems clear that Bethesda wanted us to believe that was the CoC's fate.

favorite PC character i had was an big dumb orc called Grab Her Butt. no magic skills whatsoever but decked out in heavy armor with a giant two handed warhammer. i probably rped that character more than anything else. mostly cause i usually play stealthy types so i did the orc for a change and it was alot of fun. i might even try and make a wimpy mage character with rippin magic skills. unfortunately Grab Her Butt was not smart enough to grasp the concept of the quest arrow so i never finished the main quest........or many other quests for that matter with him. :) so he was not champion, or archmage, or anything silly sounding.

Nerevarine. He/she is the mutha [censored] god killer. Dagoth Ur? Nothin' to it. Almalexia? Step aside, foo'. Aspect of Hircine? Pfft, weak insects!

His/her sword is flaming, gauntlet produces a shield and lets them wield an artifact that would kill anyone else, is protected by Azura (although, probably for her own gain, but protected none-the-less). The Nerevarine kills gods, slaughters werewolves, and doesn't afraid of anything.

The Champion of Cyrodiil is a lacky for Martin (the true hero of the story, considering he gave up his life to defend the Empire), and eventually loses his/her identity as he/she takes the place of Sheogorath so Jyggy can go laughing his ass of into freedom. The Nerevarine was a pawn, but at least he/she wasn't a sap.

CoC. His life of crime is devoted mainly to stealing books. Think about that: a guy who generally helps people, but steals books to collect them.

The Nerevarine? He just taunts people, kills them, and then takes their crap because that doesn't require as much effort.

oblivions whole mainquest thing was fubared anyways so trying to apply canon or logic is silly to begin with. if you can keep from falling out of your chair the microsoft sam oblivion walkthroughs bring up all kinds of questions like why didnt jauffre immediately wonder why you had the amulet and just took your word for it that YOU didnt kill the emperor and take it from him. tons of plotholes in the mainquest and dont get me started about how lame it is that you start out as a pansy and then within a few ingame months you are the most powerful person on planet.

the nevarine had one HUGE advantage. corpus disease. he was immune to poison and disease and could potentially live forever. i recall that the PC in oblivion got some nice powers from sheogorath but i dont remember him saying anything about immortality, which would be a pretty important thing to mention.

My Nerevarine character. There was more story to my guy compared to my Oblivion character (never played Arena or Daggerfall). He experienced more, became extremely skilled at, well everything.

And he could grow a frickin' beard. :)

I've played MW and OB about the same amount of time and like both very much. MW, however, was better for it's time IMHO, so everything else being more or less equal, I Have to give the nod to MW.

The CoC, to me, is a very cliched hero. The Nerevarine gets my vote.

If you mean by the role the devs give you, I chose Imperial agent, although you're an Imperial agent in the other three, as well.

If you mean my specific PC, I have three favorites. Two from Morrowind and one from Oblivion. They're all great, though. Except for that one Breton I made.
